(Even on weekends and holidays.) If I need to be seen, they can get me in that day or the following day. Annual exams are never hurried, and test results are fully explained. I'm not only getting great care, I'm saving money by avoiding costly emergency room visits. I'm also confident of getting referrals to the best specialists.

She has a appointment in five months with a neurologist but we though this place might help her manage some of the symptoms and feel better before that. It is the only serious medical issue she faces and yet they won't take her explaining they don't have the "band with" to manage her condition. I suspect they have labeled her in advance as a "white whiney woman" - a term male doctors often use to describe female patients who are aggressive in getting help or perhaps they just though she'd cost the practice too much money. Either way, no help from them.

I was a bit worried, and he was able to quickly assuage my fears, clearly and concisely explain possible issues, and even gave me specific instructions as to which sites to research on, so I wouldn't alarm myself learning more about the possible conditions I could have. (As google will immediately tell you an alarming diagnosis!) I trust him with any further eye care I will need, and feel he's highly competent. You need a referral to get an appointment, and the wait time to get in, without an emergent case, is VERY long. His office staff is good- but the referral department loves to put off things, and can be a bit dismissive when you try to speed things up, even when your referring doctors both said it was necessary for me to be seen stat.

She made me feel comfortable and relaxed every step of the way, talking me through everything. Dr. Karmali is extremely kind, attentive, gentle, humble, and calming. She went to UW Med School, so extra points for that! Another cool thing is that Swedish uses MyChart, an online personal health record system where you can see your medical history, appointments, messages from your doctor, etc. Strangely, when I called to make an appointment, the receptionist said that Dr. Karmali did not have any openings until January 2015. However, when I went online to MyChart, I saw multiple openings between now and the end of the year. I ended up making an online appointment with Dr. Karmali for early December and cancelling my phone-made appointment with another doctor at Swedish. I am so excited to go see Dr. Karmali again soon!

After my motorcycle accident in 2009 Dr. Karmali checked up on me and worked with my medical records from Harborview to continue with my pain management care. To this day she still works closely with me on this care and has been very good at keeping an eye out for my health and well being and continues to work with my pain management doctor at Harborview. Dr. Karmali set me up with MyChart (available to all Swedish patients) when I moved back to WA and through that I am able to discuss issues with her without having to make an appointment to go into the clinic (I'm already there enough as it is!) and she is quick to get back to me usually same day but definitely within 24 hours. She even responds on her days off and to me, that is complete dedication and proves just how much she cares about her patients. I have recommended her to a couple of friends and they love her as well. Dr. Karmali is very knowledgeable and caring. If she is unsure of something she will investigate the issue to ensure that you get the best possible care. She is just an amazing doctor and an even more amazing person.
