This contrast has been made even further lately with the major renovations at NTP where Armani, Buberry and Bally are all present in a place where people used to come to get pots and pans. This is the reality of the new Hong Kong I guess. Shatin Centre, despite its makeover, is still the neighbourhood shopping centre with the large number of small, non-chain stores. Here you will find old shoe shops (the ones where we used buy school shoes from- if you grew up here you know what I mean), small jewelers who don't cater for oligarchs like the major chain these days. There is also a disproportionate amount of personal care product retailers here which I can only presume is a strategy of the management company. You will also find fast food joints, and just cheaper restaurants as opposed to NTP nearby. When I was younger I didn't care for such things as NTP just seemed the cooler and nicer place to be. Nowadays though, all shopping centres are identical and as such, malls with little shops like this place makes for a more special experience. You don't have to fight with tourists (as much) here because the shops here are just too low brow for them. Which is just like for a skint like me.

The mall complex is actual a string of multiple malls that are connected between tunnels and bridge walkways. It actually has an entrance to my hotel which is beyond convenient if it decides to storm or the day is beyond humid [welcome to Hong Kong] The Mall is abundant in western high end brand and considering you haven't gone broke on paying rent on this city, you can shop to your heart's desire. Try not to get lost as this mall is HUGE. [9 stories - I'm still in search of the Lush store I saw it breiflly and haven't been able to find it again. I will be continuing to shop here in the next month.

My mom is a gold member at the point because of how much we go to this mall monthly. I personally live in sha tin district and it's the closest nicest mall near me. For me I'm a girl and the girls toilets are always full. Like you gotta wait in line bud, the line is very long until door area. The fact that this mall has an instrument store made it better. Becuase me I live with a 3 year old and can't buy instruments becuase the 3 year old will destroy the instrument so I don't have any. I usually go to home square for the instrument to play with but now I can just go to New Town plaza!! This mall sells a lot of good stuff. It's connected to 4 - 5 different malls ( Lucky Plaza, Hilton Plaza and Sha tin plaza) those were the 3 malls I can think of right now but I know for a fact that new town plaza has different phrases. Me as a girl I like shopping expensive things such as coach, Dior, Apple Store and much more. I find new town plaza a great mall to socialise, hang out and shop. This mall has everything you wish for as a girl but I don't know about men becuase I'm a student, not dating anyone never thought about men stuff. Thanks for reading my review. Hope you have a wonderful day at new town plaza if you're going there!!

It's a big mall and is known to be one of the busiest in all of Hong Kong. It was first opened in the 1980's but has been kept renovated and modernized and it currently still has a fresh and contemporary feel to it. As is typical with Hong Kong malls, there are a ton of shops, eateries, and tons of people to go with them. We ended up having a very nice dim sum lunch here at one of their main and popular restaurants, the Peking Garden restaurant. This first visit to Sha Tin personally gave me a feel for what a more residential area is like out in the "boonies" of Hong Kong, and it is a bit more laid back than in Hong Kong proper.
