I'm usually fairly adept at resolving my own computer issues, but this one had to do with the cooling fan, which in a laptop isn't easy to access, and messing around down there without knowing what you're doing could lead to disaster. In recent days, I received an error message each time I started it up: "Windows has detected a problem with the system's cooling fan. Shut down now, or continue to run *at your own risk*". As ominous as that message was, I admit to having rolled the dice a few times. But I was aware that my luck, such that it was, wasn't going to hold out forever. So I brought it to Buckeye PC Repair, because the Geek Squad already has plenty of money and doesn't need mine. I got it back in about a week's time. It would have been sooner, but for the fact that his parts supplier sent him defective and/or incompatible equipment necessary to complete the repair. I paid only $89 (new) for this HP laptop during a Black Friday sale, plus I had a store gift card. However, I'd invested hundreds of hours ripping my massive CD library to the hard drive. The computer was dedicated only to music. Hats off to Buckeye PC Repair for protecting my files during the process. They returned it to me not just "as good as new", but BETTER than new!

My laptop stopped charging intermittently and was giving me an error about my AC charger's wattage…read morenot being recognized. I don't usually go for tech support unless I've tried everything on my own, and everything I had read about it from other people said that it was a potential problem with the charge port or, worse case, the charge circuit. Knowing this would require some heavy duty internal work and since I was on a time crunch, I called Quality PC asking for help. I was told I had a battery problem. I told him the battery was fine, the diagnostics on the BIOS were fine, and I was getting an error about my AC charger's wattage not being recognized. He told me "charge the battery to 100% and if it quits early it's a battery problem". I told him I couldn't charge the battery because my AC charger wasn't being recognized and the battery just runs down to 0 even when it's plugged in. He said "I'm trying to help you here", insisted it was the battery, told me to buy a new one, and left it at that. $160 and a week later, I installed my new battery and guess what? Same error. And I got to go on a 2-week business trip on another continent not knowing if my work laptop was going to kick the bucket and just not charge on any given day. I don't know if they didn't want the business or what, but the level of dismissiveness I got was inconvenient and shitty, and a major waste of time and money.

I had lots of mesh routers (eeros) but somehow I couldn't get reliable service throughout our house (2 floors + basement). That's where G-flo came in to save the day. Our technician Brian arrived early and investigated the situation. We had coax throughout the house and he was able to get internet flowing from the basement to the 2nd floor. I thought the problem was solved but we had some issues with the first floor so he CAME BACK and solved the issue with the first floor too, no questions asked. This was more than a value. With Brian, he was able to utilize old phone cables in my house to create a stronger connection. After adding mesh systems to these phone cables, I have steady WiFi throughout the house. My SONOs speakers do not disconnect, my TV plays consistent 1080p/4K channels, and I haven't experienced any lag when gaming. Brian did a great job understanding my needs and completing the job in a timely fashion. He diagnosed the issues, purchased equipment, and completed installs all in the same day.
