When we moved into our new house in El Dorado, we discovered that much of the interior of our home…read morewas completed as DIY by the seller. Most of these projects were sloppy, but remained only cosmetic. However, the master shower was in need of a renovation, because the floor of the shower had been completed with a water-soluble glue and was seeping up through the floor tile. The seller had arranged for Storey's Floor & Carpet to redo the floor of the shower. I arrived at the Storey's to browse tile for this renovation, and I spoke with Kenny Storey. Upon telling him of my numerous concerns with our shower, bathtub, and other needs, Kenny agreed to visit our home in person to give additional estimates and see our concerns. He came to our home that same day, within thirty minutes of our conversation. Kenny was entirely professional, relatable, and was thorough in his work, assessing our shower, bathtub, and the rest of our home. We received quotes the following day for our requested renovations. After receiving the quotes, we decided to move forward with our shower renovation and have more than the shower floor renovated. We decided this because we felt that if we were to have the shower partially renovated, we might as well complete it to what we like. This is what was included in our shower renovation: 1. Complete replacement of floor tile in the shower, with my selection of new floor tile 2. Retiling of the large step leading into the shower 3. Removal of black accent tiles on the walls, and replacement with white tiles 4. Redo poor caulking near the top of the shower 5. Grout and missing areas of the shower For this entire renovation, our quote was approximately $900. The floor tile for the shower had to be ordered, so we waited approximately one week for Storey's to receive our tile. The following week, they came to our home the to complete this renovation. The first day consisted of laying down tile (and tearing up the black tile/replacing it with white). And the second day was to consist of grouting. Everyday, the workers arrived on time, between 7:20 and 7:30 am. On the first day, Kenny arrived with them as well to go over what was to be done. After the first day, the workers discovered that they did not have enough tile to complete the shower floor--one worker stated that he thought he saw it at the store, but was unable to find it. I received a call personally from Kenny explaining this, and he apologized and stated that they would have to again order additional tile and be in the following week. The workers came back the following day to grout what they could for the shower, and the following week they completed the shower. Here are my positive highlights from working with Storey's: 1. Hands down, beautiful shower and exactly as I requested. Please see attached photos. 2. Reasonable and realistic quote upfront about this renovation 3. Every interaction with Kenny was entirely wonderful 4. Workers arrived promptly every day 5. Workers were friendly 6. The renovation took approximately two and a half days Here are my negative thoughts on this experience: 1. On the final day, I had requested that the workers enter my home through the garage and not the patio doors leading to our bedroom. This is because I have a pet goat and she has been becoming more insistent on pushing her way through any unlocked doors, and also because that previous week so much dirt and goat poop entered our home and got on our new curtains. The workers agreed to enter through the garage. However, a couple hours later, I noticed one of the curtains to the patio doors had been drawn open, and a few moments later I saw one of the workers exit our bedroom through the patio doors. I proceeded to spend the remainder of my morning in my kitchen, cleaning, and the workers stopped using the patio doors like I had requested. I say all this because I felt like when I was in the other room, they were using the doors though I requested them not to, and when I was in the kitchen, they would not. This is my greatest concern with my experience with Storey's. On whole, I am very pleased with Storey's and incredibly happy with our shower. It really is beautiful. Further, my positive interactions with Kenny far outweigh any negative experience I had, and I will be hiring Storey's again in the future for any additional floor/tile needs.

When we tried to show "Charlie" and his wife our overcharged, he cursed us and told us not to step foot on their property. We lost over $2000 to these people. My wife and I are both 75 years old. We don't have the strength or funds to fight them. Please make sure of everything you buy here, and check prices and check the quality of their installers work. It was a B minus.

This place is a hot mess! Chaotic and sloppy. I had to re-choose my tile selections at least…read moretwice and they had to come and measure four times. Even at that, they way overestimated the amount of tile needed. I was left with several boxes of tile that are useless to me. The tile setters left a mess of grout everywhere that I am now cleaning up. The vinyl floor installers had to come back twice to finish after I demanded they do so. The carpet layers left a big ugly seam right at the top of my stairs that is extremely noticeable. On top of all that they tried to add $1,300 to our estimate! I would suggest avoiding this place, but if you decide to go ahead, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, every conversation, every choice you make, etc.
