Our experience with Mike Herronen Tree Service was exceptional. Mike and Lee were very…read morecommunicative, they always arrived when they said they would, they (and their crew) worked extremely hard, they were flexible when we added onto the project midstream, unintentionally making their job quite a bit harder, and the entire team that worked here were very pleasant to be around. We were introduced to Mike's Tree Service through our landscaper who has been coordinating and collaborating on projects with them for a little over a decade. We have owned this property for less than 2 years and have had several nightmare vendors who communicated poorly, were disrespectful of us and our property, violated our agreements, charged a lot, and executed projects poorly. In complete contrast to offering high and lacking on the delivery, Mike's Tree Service offered high and delivered much higher, even adding on all sorts of extras. The cost and scope of the work was substantial, however the return on our investment was exponential. Working with Mike and his team, who were respectful, kind, diligent, capable, and operated with integrity, ended up being a healing experience for us. We are enjoying the results of all their hard work created with a ton of sweat, knowhow, and heavy-duty machines, not only because it was done exceptionally well, but also because it was done artfully and with a reverence for nature. The work: Mike, Lee, and crew recently spent nearly two weeks initiating the first few phases of a larger ongoing project to clean up over 20 years of overgrown plants and trees around our house and property. The initial plan was multi-faceted: to trim the tree and bougainvillea in our courtyard, to take down the trees overhanging the new roof and any other trees that were worrisome near the house ahead of hurricane season, to clear out trees that were leaning over our pond creating an erosion issue, to create a "runway" over in that area for emergency vehicles or construction trucks, to clean up the trees and plants that were impinging on our long driveway, to clear out the Brazilian pepper and melaleucas that were encroaching so far into the backyard, that we felt crowded on a couple acres of property, and to create enough openness to re-fence in a much larger backyard. There were many other smaller items on the list too. They completed all of this and much more, including clearing along our property line to protect our house from fire, helping to remove a bunch of trees and their roots that had grown into an agricultural fence, along with pulling out a bunch of the fence, stump-grinding to create level walking/driving areas, and chipping about 10 truckloads of much to use on our property. Initially they were chipping in a pile for me to work from, then they offered to move it with their machines to pull-ins along our driveway and then spread it out. (This was above and beyond and saved me at least a full week's (or two) worth of work). The Process: On the first morning they started, Mike and I walked the property and went over everything in exceptional detail, then he, Lee and the team went straight to work. Any time there was a question, Lee always found me to ask. Mike walked the property with me every day to discuss what is going to be done, what was done, and what the next step is. Although we had a lot of problematic trees that needed to go, he understood and shared our desire to keep as many native trees as possible. Once they cleared away the impenetrable brush in the back, it revealed the forest, and we ended up expanding the project to more than double the original plan. It seemed like every layer they uncovered, there were new aspects uncovered, and it changed how we moved forward. While Mike, Lee and their team are accustomed to handling the gross and fine details in the tree work, making so many decisions was overwhelming. A lot of times, unless I had a strong opinion on the matter, I would defer to their judgement. It's just been a week since they left, and every day we are seeing more and more of the art in their work and how they were able to expose the deeper beauty embedded in this diamond-in-the-rough landscape. We have more phases of the project to continue with Mike and Lee in the near and distant future, but for now, we are smiling every day enjoying a pond the dogs can race around, gazing at the forest from the pool, and exploring the areas in the back they opened up.

The tree was in a tricky spot between the pool cage and the lake, about an 8 ft area wide. I had quotes between $400 (Any Town) and $1900! I decided to go with Any Town after reading their reviews. They showed up on schedule with 6 men, very professional trucks, and the appropriate tools and power equipment. They were so friendly, fast, efficient. Everything was done and thoroughly cleaned up in one hour. They very clearly knew what they were doing! The guy to handle the stumping of the trunk (same company) came back 3 days later and did the job. We were told upfront that if we wanted them to take away the trunk shavings, that is an additional $60. We declined and said, no we'd handle that. Well, we had gone out and when we came home there was a tree shaving pile that was huge and extremely heavy. Plus, we had no idea how we were going to dispose of it all. I called Any Town back and asked if they could please come back to remove. They were back the next morning and removed it all in about an hour. A back breaking, messy job. So, for $460, we were thrilled. I would hire them again in an instant! Suzanne Nelson, Naples

They missed many invasive plants and had to return to remove them. They removed about three quarters of the vines but refused to remove the rest. Their excuse is they couldn't get the job finished the first day so they did what they could. It would take them about an hour to finish up but refused to do so. The owner Barry came on site one day and started screaming & swearing at another tree vendor we had hired to remove a large tree. He was abusive & unprofessional. Do NOT hire Any Town Tree!
