So, how do you find a real estate agent when you live far away? YELP!!! Thanks to the awesome…read morereviews we contacted Bernice in the fall of 2018 to discuss moving to RVA from NoVA. We were paired up with Steve Kirby as our agent. I just love Steve. We scheduled a meeting with Bernice and Steve to discuss what we needed. We received a complete power point show about what community was where and amenities. A complete geography crash course. Remember, we were coming here sight unseen based on this presentation. They took over 2 hours to go over things which totally helped us understand the RVA area. After this meeting we went home and started receiving portal updates. We starred the items we loved and trashed the ones that weren't our type/style. Every day was exciting to look at this portal. (I hate to say it, we miss the daily portal.) During this 3 or 4 months of time both Steve and Bernice were available if we needed anything. When we found our home Steve set up the inspection and processed all the paperwork needed on their end. Bernice and Steve came to our closing. Which meant a lot to us. This is a big change to us and we are settling in with a few bumps along the way. We don't regret working with Bernice and Steve. They were worth their weight in gold. Not only are they good realtors. They are good people. So, stop reading all the yelp reviews and contact them. You won't regret it, I promise.

I couldn't be happier that we decided to go with her as our realtor. Throughout the process, she has been by our side every step of the way. Buying a home, especially your first home, can be an extremely scary process, but Bernice made it effortless and enjoyable despite us hitting some speed bumps along the way. There are no words to adequately describe her genuine desire to do ONLY what is best for her clients. She is one of the most patient and caring individuals we have ever met. We looked at 24 homes and put in 5 offers before getting our home, and she never once blinked an eye. She was always willing to meet us at our convenience. Communication was beyond perfect. We have not only secured a gorgeous home, but we have gained a friend for life with Bernice. We could not recommend her enough. You would be absolutely insane not to choose her for YOUR Happy Ending!

My husband and I were looking to sell his first home and purchase our first home together. We were stressed out that we would find our dream home and not be able to sell his house OR would sell his house and be struggling to find a home we wanted to move into! That wasn't the case thanks to Alex and his wife Lauren. They helped make this huge life transition of ours as painless and seamless as possible. Thanks to the Glaser Team's excellent photos, marketing and professionalism...my husband's house sold in 2 days! We moved into our new home two months later and the timeline was absolutely perfect. I would absolutely recommend Alex whether you are buying OR selling and absolutely if you are doing both! FYI, they also give back to our local animal community with a part of their profits. Big heart eyes for these guys.

Especially Blacks. And, surprisingly, another minority group is also unfriendly towards Blacks in this neighborhood. The hilarious thing is: The older Caucasians don't really want them around either ! They look at 'them' with the same disgust as they do with Black residents/visitors ! Libbie Mill has a pretty greenspace with a lake that's a nice place to sit/read, etc. The Caucasian residents who walk their dogs look at everyone that's not Caucasian as if they are beneath them. This is NOT an exclusive gated community. They knew this when they moved over here ! These streets are open to everyone. New businesses are opening up over here all the time but who wants to deal with classist, uppity residents and their pre-conceived notions about minorities (ESPECIALLY BLACKS !) and the judgemental looks & stares just to patronize these businesses ?!?!?!? Libbie Mill must DO BETTER !

It's across from the Staples Mill Wawa. I joined the area in early November after leaving Scott's Addition, and Libbie Mill is admittedly way more my speed as a 30-year-old who doesn't want to live in a dorm-like environment. Some friends who live here had recommended it so highly that I knew I had to check it out. Libbie Mill boasts a pretty lake, dog park, and nature walkway, some shops, a new Starbucks, Crafted, Shagbark, Salon 33, Capital Eye Care, Penstock Quarter Apartments, the Libbie Mill Townhomes, a library branch, and several exercise facilities, among other businesses. It's continuing to grow, and I don't worry about them bringing in disruptive commercial tenants. Everything they do is thoughtful and classy here, unlike where I lived before. Wellsmith Apartments is being built across from Penstock with a fall 2021 estimated opening, so that will bring more traffic but it's never really crazy busy here anyway, so I'm not worried. Libbie Mill management brings food trucks to the area, which is really cool. This week alone they had two food trucks across from Penstock's North Lobby. Speaking of Penstock, the apartments are well-built, quiet, and my neighbors are so friendly. Seriously, night and day from my old place. Here people say "hello" or "good morning" or have full chats in the elevator. It's SUCH a breath of fresh air! The leasing office agents are wonderful too - there's an ice storm coming in tomorrow and they sent an email blast this afternoon letting us know and asking us to reach out if we need anything. Parking is abundant. There's several parking lots and a two-level complimentary garage that connects to Penstock. I'm excited to see how the neighborhood evolves in time and can't wait to attend resident events once the pandemic chills out. Highly recommend the whole area.
