We rolled in here on Thursday right after work and they were already bustling with people. We had…read moreno reservation and we were fortunate enough to get a table outside which was nice. A quick look at the menu and I knew right away what I wanted. I ordered the Crispy Roll that came with camaron, and super spicey large. 10 awesome servings of that and I was set. My friend the Korean Spicey Tuna rolls which had aguacate and some interesting peppers. Since we were all-in the adventurous sushi tonight, we both downed two tequilas quickly (the only way possible). The sushi restaurant was a lot of fun and we both enjoyed ourselves a lot!

We sat at the bar where the chefs are right in front of you making the sushi, so we definitely had one of the best seats in the house. We started with the "Tuna+Crispy Rice+Kisami Nori," this was bomb! I really liked this dish, the contrasting textures and the fresh tuna. I also ordered the 5 peice nigiri sample (one of each: salmon, wagyu, hamachi, unagi and chutoro), this was also great, the stand out by far was the wagyu! Lastly I ordered a shrimp tempura roll; this was just okay to me and frankly the rolls were too big for my taste. Service was excellent and attentive; the restaurant itself has a dark and cool vibe and overall this is definitely a spot I would both recommend and go back to if I find myself in Mexico City again.

We ordered a Philadelphia roll and some yakisoba with mixed meat (beef, chicken and shrimp). The roll came out first and was typical for a chain sushi place- a bit too much rice and not much cream cheese. This roll is not the same roll you will get in the states. In the states you will get a chunk of cream cheese, here was only a spread of it. Not the same. The yakisoba came out next and was inedible. We sent it away and told our server we didn't want it because it was too salty and the chicken and beef were definitely reheated. It was like they just threw in more soy sauce to heat it all up. She did NOT remove it from the bill even though we literally took one bite and let her know it was terrible. We paid our bill and still tipped which I wish we would not have. Service slow, food less than mediocre. Only stars were for the drinks. Unfortunate.

The drinks were great! The Philly roll was ok, the cream cheese was a thin spread, not nearly enough in the roll. The wait for the yakisoba was very long. Saw other tables come, eat, and go before the yakisoba was finally brought to the table. I could immediately smell the odor of soy sauce. It was drenched in it. I took one bite and sure enough, the dish was so heavily salted, it was inedible. I asked the server to take it back and tell the chef it could not be eaten. The server returned and asked if I wanted to take it home. Of course I didn't. The bill came and the dish was still on the bill. I didn't have the energy to argue as it was late. I paid the $12 for nothing, just so I could leave. While all of that was happening, a woman behind the bar kept turning the music up so loud, the speakers would get distorted, then down low; and back up again. Over and over, and laughing about it. What started as a promising late evening meal, turned into a nightmare. I won't be back to this place. I do not recommend.

The Aguachile is exceptional and the best we've ever had. Other favorites are the Tostadas de Atún and The Montados de bacalao. The Bocadillo de Bacalao was tasty and substantial, but I like the Montado version better. The Patatas Bravas are cubed and although seasoned and laced in crema, they were a little dry, but still good. The dish that was a clear miss was the Crispy Rice with Atún or Salmon. It was not crispy and was batter covered rice with a small bland topping. Service is usually good, but was not as nice as usual on this visit. Our first young man was super pleasant and helpful, but his shift ended. The young lady who took over was in a big hurry to sample food and chat with her coworkers. She started clearing our plates without asking and put a dirty plate on top of out Patatas Bravas while we were eating them! Mind you, there was no one waiting for our seats. A hiccup, but not cool at the prices charged. We'll try to avoid her station next time.
