We came here to surprise my friend for her birthday in October as it was a close restaurant to our hotel and airport. The staff were absolutely amazing and accommodating and the food was so good! They have the best bouillabaisse I have ever had. The picture does not do it justice and I don't know if you can see the video I took of pouring the fish stock over the generous portion of seafood. I still think about that dish every day and wish the chef could give me their recipe. If you are in the area, you must visit!! All the other dishes my friends ordered were quite delicious as well. Great job to the owners and staff for making our visit so memorable.

I stayed in Haarlem for a week with my husband and while we kept saying, "oh, let's check out menus at other eateries, we ended up to keep returning here because it's that good! In short, we tried about 5 of their appetizers and whichever ones you order, you will love, trust me! I would fly back here in a heartbeat just for their short ribs entree! Ugh...the meat just fell off the bones and fingerlickin' good. Yes, as an American getting down and dirty eating them probably grossed out a few patrons, but that just means their ribs here are that good! They definitely get American Soul Food right here! Fixed price of 23.75 euros gets you 3 courses! Be warned though, the menu is all in Dutch and they do not take credit cards . Cash or Dutch debit only. My entree came with salad and a cone of fries. I chose the sole and it came with 3 lovely fish , pan sautéed with herb butter and served with lemon. Delicious ! But they are the whole fish, so you have to be prepared to take out the bone with a fish knife. A patron at the next table had what looked to be a big green salad with beef on the top. I'll have to figure out what that was .... the Dame Blanche dessert looked like a fudge Sunday with vanilla ice cream drizzled with fudge sauce . Everything is prepared to order and is really delicious . It's understated and very much a local gem. If you are near hoofdornplein , make a point and you won't be disappointed .
