In the Czech Republic, castles are my "thing" and when I saw pics of Červená Lhota, I knew I must…read morevisit and I was not disappointed. Even on a rainy day, the picturesque red castle sitting amidst a granite outcrop/ moss covered lake - absolutely mystical and surreal!
The chateau has an extensive collection of historic furniture, tiled stoves, pictures, porcelain etc. On the northern side is a landscaped park and the Renaissance Chapel of the Holy Trinity. There is a marked circular path around the fishpond and boats can be hired near the château.
There are three tours - The castle interior 1st floor, the attic rooms, and the cellars - and you don't need reservations unless you have a big group. Although the tours are in Czech only, they provide a handout in English and the guides speak English quite well if you have questions.
Gorgeous place. One of my faves Czech castles, to date (out of the 100s they have and the dozens I have visited)
