When we spoke to them at the Home Show they said they would pour a concrete footer under the versalock block for stability. There was no concrete poured under the block. We had to make them take the wall down twice because it was leaning and no support. When we asked about the concrete footer they poured dry concrete under the blocks when they took it down the first time. They did not put a drain behind the wall which was in the estimate. Their crew was nice enough, but they arrived on the job between 8am and 9am , took an hour for lunch and left the job between 1:30pm and 2:30pm. He required half of the payment up front. After a few days we had to fire them and did not receive any of our down payment back. Definitely would not recommend Pfingston for retaining walls. They didn't get to the steps or driveway so I don't have an opinion on their concrete work. I would not recommend paying half up front.

The project that Pfingston Concrete completed for us included installing a privacy fence, digging a French drain with backyard sump pump, backfilling the yard, building a retaining wall for flower beds, planting several shrubs and a tree and pouring new sidewalks and driveway. This work was completed during the hottest period of the summer. They ran in to unexpected issues such hitting buried bricks in almost every area where they were digging. They soldiered through to get the job completed. They were able to begin my project a little ahead of schedule and made steady progress through completion. The outstanding quality that I most appreciated was the open communication. Jerry is easy to talk to and doesn't hesitate to ask questions to confirm that we are on the same page. He always showed up on schedule and contacted me when rainstorms prohibited them from working. Jerry would always keep me in the loop of what items were completed and which things were to be completed next. He would often send pictures and videos of completed work. We've been working with other crews of roofers, electricians, plumbers, and general contractors. It was often a struggle to get these other crews to the job site and to receive updates. So it was greatly appreciated that Pfingston Concrete went above and beyond to keep our project on schedule and keep us updated every step of the way. It was a pleasure working with Pfingston Concrete.

His response "3000- $30,000. I am not trying to be a smart ass but that is how much it will be. Its like calling a dealership about which car do you want to buy. A Honda can be $5000 or Lamborghini can be $100,000". I said "well I just told you that we are looking for basic concrete and wanted to rough estimate". He went on a tirade about how I can "swoop up a Lamborghini and make it worth $400,000". I think his brain is full of gravel and I doubt there is anything concrete. Save your time from him!

TERRIBLE! Not only did they endanger my daughter, but they did poor quality work and cost me…read morethousands of dollars to have it redone. I contacted Pfingston in early May to get an aggregate addition on my driveway and back patio. They scheduled me for the first week of July. They then pushed back the date several times and finally started digging in early August. A week later they poured the aggregate concrete. Immediately, I could see that it was terrible work. 1.) The aggregate was inconsistent throughout. 2.) It was completely unlevel and wavy throughout each pad. 3.) There were no defined edges and many jagged chunks missing. 4.) When smoothing the edges they pushed down too hard. This caused the whole pad to be a 1/4â lower than my original concrete. 5.) The pre-cut stress lines were curved and crooked. 6.) The edges that touched my house were graded towards my house. The problems donâ t stop there. The next day it rained and I could see where water was pooling up all over my concrete. This will not bode well in the winter. They also did very little clean up. Iâ m still finding chunks of concrete in my yard. I also found a random 2â x3â patch of concrete in the middle of my yard where they dumped their extra concrete. WORST OF ALL: When my daughter climbed into her playset, I noticed that it was wobbling. Upon further inspection, I found that they had hit one of the posts anchoring the play house to the ground. This pulled the anchor from the ground and snapped the post. They failed to tell me about this so that I could fix it. Luckily, I noticed before the leaning playset fell over. The owner gave me alot of excuses for the bad work. He told me if I sealed it that would fix my problems.Unfortunately, 3 other concrete companies told me all they could do was rip it out and pour it correctly. Now, I have to pay double the amount to fix the work Pfingston did. If you value your money, go with a better company and get the work done right the first time.
