We were pleasantly surprised with the interior, featuring large rooms for lessons, a comfortable waiting room, and even a stage for performances. I was even impressed with their teachings of "learn to play what you love". There's something very endearing about a man looking like he belongs as a member of Metallica, teaching tweens how to play Taylor Swift. You pay $21 per lesson, and pay upfront for a month. They're very flexible with cancellations-they will actually reschedule your lesson (if you're sick, or have homework like my child). Highly recommend.

The owner of the place is a great teacher, and doesn't let you get away with making excuses. The philosophy of the place is that they want you to learn how to play music, rather than just play a bunch of songs. The place is focused on lessons, so it isn't a guitar store that gives lessons on the side. I moved out of state for a while. When I moved back, the first call I made was to continue my lessons here. Now I'm back to my trumpet and guitar, plus I've started piano. I started back basically where I left off, and I think I sound great. My musical knowledge is improving every week. It's only a matter of time now before I hit the big time!

It's a classy, extremely high caliber music school disguised in a humble, charming building and taught by humble charming people. Additionally, randomly, their bass teachers are also really, really, ridiculously cool. And smart. And funny?! And for some reason their rooms always smell the best?! Anyway, just my observation as someone who walked by it on the sidewalk once and definitely not the bass teacher with the essential oil diffuser (it's cedarwood oil).
