Dr bills you for an hour consult but spends 10 minutes with you. Don't waste your time going to this small practice.

My husband and I are are ever so grateful to have found Dr. Irani and his team (at the Crystal Lake…read morelocation) for our IUI process. Having had a good experience previously with FCI (specifically Oakbrook Terrace, now Hinsdale), we decided to work with FCI Glenview due to being close to my work. Let's just say we were glad we made the switch and to one very close to home! From day one, working with AFCC was smooth and comforting. Insurance costs were discussed up-front, so we knew what was our responsibility. Each appointment was welcoming and generally convenient. On a side note, when I was at FCI, they opened their doors at 6:30 am for blood work and ultrasounds. The Crystal Lake location is open at 7:30 am...a little less convenient for those who need to go to work early but not a deal breaker. However, I only saw Dr. Irani during the initial appointment and worked mostly with his nurse, Ashley, for every blood draw and ultrasound. It looks like communication though with Dr. Irani and Ashley was solid because I can proudly say that I am 2 weeks pregnant from a successful IUI procedure (and after the 1st try!!). They know what they are doing! I will be seeing Dr. Irani for my last appointment, which will be for an ultrasound and I believe, final consultation. Thanks again, Dr. Irani, Ashley, and the rest of the AFCC team! We highly recommend this place to those living in this area!

I do not have enough good things to say about AFCC and the staff that I have worked with…read more Infertility is not an easy journey and the staff was always compassionate and honest with me throughout my journey. I never once had a misstep in appointments, phone calls, medication etc. I was actually surprised at how quick the staff is to answer questions and set up appointments as I am sure I am not the only patient! While I hope I never have to recommend anyone close to me to a fertility clinic, if I do, I will recommend AFCC. Thank you to Dr. C, nurses Ashley, Aminty, Cathy and our embryologist (sorry- no name!) for making this journey a little easier.

I wish I could have said I even made it to my appointment. Saying I had the worst experience with…read morethe Crystal Lake Office is an understatement. I chose this office after hearing the positive reviews of Dr. Karande. After the first interaction I had with the front desk woman when I arrived, early for my appointment, was an embarrassment. Not only this office, every person in healthcare and an insult to every Mom to be. Clearly she has been allowed to speak disrespectfully to patients for far too long. I felt bad for the office staff behind this woman that they probably hear this woman berate others who are going through a very sensitive and emotional time. She needs better training and education on how to kindly and respectful speak to women who are struggling with fertility. She does not belong in this field. Many women carry this emotional weight daily and to be told that my appointment will be significantly shorter because I didn't get the lab work completed prior to my consultation. Which I was unaware of. Makes me continue to feel that my infertility is all my fault. No woman who ever feel like this. I received a call 18 minutes before my appointment, as I was turning into the parking lot, by a very sweet nurse asking if I had my labs for the appointment. As I shared I didn't know I needed for this consultation but I'll be in the office in 2 minutes. I enter in and the nurse I spoke to was there and very kind while the old sad excuse for a receptionist told me to sit down. Since I'm early and in no rush, I've waited so long for this appointment I was totally chill and took a seat. She started barking at me from behind her desk. Startled me because there was no real greeting. For multiple minutes she berated and railed into me that I should have had labs and an ultrasound done. I told her that I understand that he may not be able to share much with me but I was unaware. And to be honest almost 2 years of trying.. what's 1 more month as long as I am on the right path. I got this phone call a 1:41 for an appointment at 2pm. She had me shaking and so upset I was uncontrollably crying. I have never had anyone in my life that should be a medical professional speak to me in the manner. By 1:55 I just couldn't take it anymore and told her I would wait in my car for the appointment since the doctor was running late. I eventually calmed down and trusted my momma gut and decided absolutely not will I have someone speak to me that way nor will I support an office who believes her behavior is appropriate. I made a new appointment with another fertility doctor as I was fueled with determination. I walked back in and told her to let the Dr. know when he arrives that I will not be continuing with my appointment or this practice because of her. She sent me off with a 'good luck on your journey'- I will with absolutely no credit to her insensitive and ignorant comments. I wasn't going to give this company a minute more of my time but I was livid. I decided to call and make a formal complaint so just someone else is aware of this awful woman's actions and the hope that no other patient will ever have to experience what I and I would image many other caring, loving soon to be moms have had to be subjected to. I called and spoke to a front desk person who was working from home.. she was nice and was going to connect me to a 'regional manager' I was sent to a billing mailbox. Clearly that's not the manager. So I hang up and call back. I get another office who answers and says they will connect me to this manager and I sat on hold for 20 minutes. Absolutely unacceptable but clearly that must be a standard with this practice. Mamas beware- choose another practice. Sending you all baby dust! (And wishes for a better experience)

First off, I have never written a bad review, but I feel compelled to protect other women/couples…read morefrom this doctor. I saw Dr. Karande after trying for a year to conceive. He abruptly shook my hand and shoved me into an ultrasound room. Dr. Karande then "diagnosed" me with pcos after looking at the screen for less than 15 seconds and then basically told me I was doomed. My only option would likely be IVF or IUI. Dr. Karande was rude, rushed, and so very annoyed that I wanted to chat about this new diagnosis. I left discouraged, in tears, and never went back to him again.
