My whole family loves Dr. Simpson. I'll be the first to admit, I have been wary of chiropractors…read morefor quite some time. I always brushed it aside as some sort of voodoo medicine. I think this is in part due to not really understanding what chiropractors do (and how they're trained), and also a previous bad experience with an acupuncturist/chiropractor (who I only saw for acupuncture). My husband was the first to start seeing Dr. Simpson for some back issues he'd been having for quite some time. She did a very thorough assessment of him, including x-rays, which I didn't realize chiropractors did, and came up with a treatment plan for him. After just a few visits he was feeling much better. As Dr. Simpson specializes in prenatal care, she encourage my husband to bring me in (as I was pregnant at the time). Many of my friends had been seeing her too and spoke highly of her. I was still skeptical but decided to give her a shot. Long story short... my visits with her made my pregnancy a much better experience! With my first pregnancy, I had significant sciatic nerve pain, and this time it was VERY minimal (I also attribute that to working out regularly this pregnancy whereas I didn't last time). She also helped me overall with back and hip pain, and even pelvic pain. She also specializes in working with children. Our 20 month old was going through a significant sleep regression, and I had heard chiropractic care could help, so we figured we'd give it a shot. My daughter is pretty wary of doctors touching her, but Dr. Simpson is basically the child whisperer. My daughter was very at ease with her and even laid on the adjustment table by herself and let Dr. Simpson touch her! My husband and I were both amazed as our daughter usually recoils and hisses at the ped when she comes at our daughter with just a stethoscope! After just the first visit, we saw a major improvement in our daughter's sleep, and after several visits, she was 100% back on track, which was a life saver when the baby came! Lastly, I have taken my newborn to see her as well. During the first few weeks, he was having a lot of trouble passing gas and having bowel movements. We brought him in to have a very simple and gentle adjustment with Dr. Simpson - and just a wee bit after his visit with her, we got a good size poop. Only parents can appreciate the excitement in that, especially after baby has been struggling! Ever since that one visit, he has been fantastic with his passing of gas and stools. Hooray for poop! So, to sum up, Dr. Simpson is amazing! She's been great with my entire family and all our various needs. Her office space is great, kid friendly and welcoming. We will continue visiting her as long as we call Leavenworth home!
