Thinking the employee was probably busy in the back for a moment, I walked around the store for 10 minutes as I found my items. After walking to the counter, the employee was still no where to be seen. As I walked to the back to see if there was anyone in the store, I saw the employee fast asleep at a desk. After having to wake him up he asked me what he could do for me. I told him I wanted to purchase some items and we walked to the checkout. Apparently the coupon is not good for another week and was told I would have to wait (while never receiving an apology). This is not my first bad experience with this location, but it will be my last time visiting.

A sales associate helped with locating it and after asking a few questions she showed me what I should purchase. I had a feeling I wasn't getting the right product but took her advice. After returning home and opening it my suspisions were correct. She did infact suggest the wrong product and since I opened it I am now stuck with it. Although friendly I think the staff needs more training. Next time I will go to the Arlington Heights location.

This location is basically across the street from the big CDW on Milwaukee Avenue. This is THE BEST location and I have to thank Dave the manager, as well as Juan and Darren who work here. Today is March 15, 2009 and largely due to their advice, I now weigh 181.4 lbs. I first started coming to this store 8 months ago with my first review of this store back on 8/18/08 at a weight of 220 lbs. Because of the knowledge and helpful nature of those three guys, I have lost close to 40 lbs. I live closer to the Arlington Hts. location, and while that is a nice store too, I don't mind going further to this location instead because I know I can rely on them if I have a question and they won't just try to sell me the most expensive thing in the store. Let me also say that I used to go to GNC a lot, but over the years it seems like over 80% of the products in the store are now their own brand. You get a better selection at the Vitamin Shoppe and at this particular location, Dave, Juan and Darren are very knowledgeable and twice as helpful, more so than most of the other locations I have been to.

I saw a man in his mid 20's with black hair starting to walk out. I went back to the counter with my supplements. Then the phone rang, he walked up to the counter and answered the phone. Without acknowledging me walked away and started speaking with the person on the phone about body building powders. I thought, WOW, business must be rocking if you can ignore a customer with cash in hand and talk to a prospected customer on the line. So I left my supplements on the counter and walked out. FYI GNC there is a Meijer's , Cost Co, Pick N Save, Festival Foods, Target, Fresh Thymes, Sam's Club ShopKo, Wal-Mart, K-Mart Woodman's and The Pig within less than a seven min drive from your store.
