In May our septic system failed due to a cracked and collapsed sixty plus year old septic pipe that became clogged with small roots from a nearby bush the size of a tree. We called on a local company, MidSouth Pumping and they serviced our septic tank, and I learned that it had not been properly serviced since about the late nineties. However that didn't solve the problem and John the owner indicated that the problem was due to a clogged line in the pipe just beyond and outside of the house. We than called Roto Rooter and they confirmed the same at a cost of approximately $850. MidSouth charged me $150 and that included digging down to the septic tank with a backhoe and pumping the contents as well as determining the location of the clog. After charging me approximately $850 Roto Rooter advised that the obstruction was due to root and pipe decay within in a period of about 4 to 5 hours. They suggested that I replace the septic pipe from the house to the septic tank and quoted the cost to be $3194.00 which included the piping, excavation of the old pipe and two technicians. We called MidSouth Pumping and John and his brother in law quoted $1200.00 to do the same. John returned the following day and did all that Roto Rooter quoted in four hours for $1200.00. To say the least, I was impressed and extremely thankful for the job well done. John was honest and empathetic to our situation and I will be forever thankful to him and his brother in law.
