It's a great place however the prices are insane. Having lived in Hawaii and New Jersey I paid 30 a month at 24 hour fitness or LA Fitness and this was with childcare all day (9am-8pm) at the community center for north end it's 60 a month with childcare only in the morning, and 90 a month for the other location with more accommodating hours. First, let me say that the Midland Community Center offers a very large range of activities...two pools (lap pool and a large family pool), basketball courts, weight room, racquetball courts...there is definitely a lot to do at the MCC. However, in the past few years they have made visiting completely cost-prohibitive. Do you like to swim to stay in shape? It will cost you $40 a month...and the pool is only open for a few select hours each day for open swim (seriously...go look at their schedule and try to figure out when you can and cannot swim). That, and their lap pool only has 5 lanes, and there were multiple occasions where I had to share lanes with up to 4 people at a time. What if you just want to drop in and run around the track? $7 A DAY. You do get access to their weight room, too, but for $3 more you could just get a MONTHLY membership at Planet Fitness. All membership plans also require an "auto-draft joining fee" of about $100. So, if money isn't an issue and you like to stay in shape, definitely check this place out. However, if you're working with a tight budget, try one of the other gyms in the area, because MCC is one of the most expensive ways to stay in shape in the area, and there are better options out there for far less money read more

We love the community center. It has great classes for young kids, it's cheap, the facility is nice... it's basically the opposite of Big E sports bar which of course is the worst place ever. Anyway, 5 stars for the community center. read more

The community center has a lot to do for every age. Memberships are reasonably priced at $32 per month. I enjoy working out. They have the left fitness cross trainers that I like and I rarely have to wait long for equipment. For people who do aerobics, they have a ton of classes. I see the Zumba people rocking out class when I go. Occasionally I like to mix it up with rock climbing or racquetball. It's nice to have the variety. Staff are friendly and helpful. read more

I love it here and so does my daughter.. She has taken dance, incredible edible art, and is about to start gymnastics and has four camps to go to. I do zumba and it is awesome. All the instructors are super nice and my daughter also loves their kids corner. It took me a few years but i am really glad i found this place. read more

We moved to Midland in 2017. I heard of the community center and went there to check it out and thought it was fabulous. There are many activities to choose from, and I thought it would be a great place to go in the winter to get some exercise. So in January, I signed up for a membership. At first I used the indoor track to run and no problems there. The problems started when I began using the fitness room to workout. Within a week of my first trip to the fitness room, I developed an upper respiratory illness. Being a very healthy person with only one other illness in the last 5 years, I decided that if I wanted to continue using the facility, I would need to be much more careful about cleaning the equipment before I use it. They do have wipes for this purpose, so maybe I just need to wipe more/better. And I continued to go. Then about a month later, I got the stomach flu. At this point I start questioning using the facility at all but I keep going because I was enjoying it. Now, another month later, I have strep throat. Based on the fact that nothing else has changed in my life since January, the only explanation is an unsanitary fitness center. I have also learned that there are no state laws that regulate the cleaning practices of fitness facilities. I know that they cannot stop ill people from coming and using the equipment or not properly cleaning the equipment when they are done, but I have also never seen anyone cleaning anything in that building. Maybe the cleaning crew comes in the middle of the night, but if so, they are not properly sanitizing the equipment in the fitness center. I cancelled my membership and I am looking for other fitness options. My health is the most important thing I have. I can find many other ways to exercise without getting sick all the time. read more

Midland Community Center is the best facility in the area for recreation, childcare, summer camps, senior and family services... hands down.
