This is a smooth running small suburban practice with one dentist and 2 hygienists. I have noticed…read moreit seems to run very much on schedule and have never had to wait more than 5 minutes. We have been using Dr. Waldman as our family dentist for 2 years. I should mention that we haven't needed any dental work done, so our experience with this practice has been limited to regular preventative/cleaning visits. In my first visit I had my teeth cleaned by Dr. Waldman himself. On subsequent visits, cleanings have been done by hygienists and Dr. Waldman has come in immediately afterwards to examine my teeth. (I don't know if he normally does initial visits himself for the sake of thoroughness, or if maybe there was just a hygienist out sick on my first visit.) The care has been good, both for me and my two little kids. No unnecessary procedures have been suggested. Visits have been covered in full by our insurance after our deductible. I have been thoroughly satisfied.

Upon moving to Darien from NYC I did a lot of research to find a good dentist and based on reviews…read moremade an appointment with Dr. Waldman. On my first visit I was told only after having my cleaning done by a dental assistant that Dr. Waldman was not in the office that day. His associate, who I knew nothing about, spent a total of 2 minutes looking at my X rays and never looked into my mouth. I relayed my annoyance at not being informed prior to arriving for my visit that Dr. Waldman was not in the office. If I had know I would have changed the appointment to day he was in the office. I decided to give the office another chance and returned 6 months later for checkup and again was informed after my cleaning by a dental assistant that Dr. Waldman was not in the office that day. When I asked why my visit had been scheduled on a day when the dentist was not in the office, I was told this was normal and that I did not need to see the dentist because I was not having X-Rays done that day. The staff acted like I was being a pain because I wanted to see the dentist and made a big show about noting on my chart that I always wanted a dentist to check me when I went for a check up. In my 43 years of going for dental visits I have NEVER not had a dentist look at my teeth. I was astounded that this was their practice. I asked if they were going to charge my insurance company for a dental check up when I never saw a dentist. They said "of course". As for Dr. Waldman - who knows if he is any good. I never got to meet him. His staff and associate are awful.

You're greeted by humans, diagnosed and treated by humans and you leave much better off than when you came in without the big bill. Don't get me wrong. You still get the state of the art toys you expect to find in an up to date dentist office, but theyre operated by people who talk to you as an inndividual while trying to find out what your needs are and who you are. They care more about your family, which they can remember almost always whether you were there 2 weeks or 2 years ago. I had the fancy, floosy service that atracts client by the lenghth of their skirts and high heels while leaving your teeth to rot. But I have a number on my speed dial for that, it's not under "my teeth are killing me". Again, don't get me wrong. I'm not sying it's not pleasant to be treated by Dr. Lehmann and her lovely, courteous, attractive but Well trained and professional staff. And when i leave, I'm confident my new tooth wont fall out during a business dinner. They say, the route to your health and through your mouth and your teeth are a very important part of it. Don't trust them to Bells and whistles. Trust them to Dr. Lehmann and Company. :)
