I go to the one on Lincoln Hwy in Lancaster, PA. Absolutely would not go anywhere else. They are extremely knowledgeable. They have saved me so much money over the years. I trust them and appreciate their advice. One of the best thing about them is Tim, the service manager. He has advised me numerous times on what to have done now and what can wait till later. Management has changed recently and drastically at Midas, so if you've had a less-than-stellar experience there before, give them another shot. Mike, Keith, and Jeremy will make sure you are taken care of! In the past 3 months, I've had a head gasket job done (a huge 2-day job that my former go-to shop said would take them 4 days), an AC leak repaired and AC recharge, and a pulley that broke my water pump. Mike (the owner) drove me to my job so I didn't have to miss any work. They will get you an estimate on any job and arrange to do the work timely. I am glad to have finally found a place where I trust the people taking care of my car, and I'd recommend Midas Mechanicsburg to anyone - especially women who are tired of feeling taken advantage of when it comes to car repair. I'm not sure how this place has anything less than 5 stars. It was a blessing when my wife and mother in law recommended Midas on the Carlisle Pike a few years ago. I've been going to them ever since. I know a little bit about cars, but not extensively. These guys are always super friendly, and will never charge you for things you don't need. They will explain everything to you in a way that anyone could understand. Just today, I set an appointment, and was able to get in today.....the same day! Appointment was for 2, but showed up half an hour early, and I got a phone call from them right before my actually appointment time saying it was ready. They won't charge you an arm or a leg either. I found my go to place in the west shore area, and I hope that everyone else heads my advice and tries this place out! read more

Was leaving work and noticed a co workers car had a flat. What made it worse was they already had the donut on the car. I asked if they had another spare. She said she didn't even realize the tire was flat. I found that the valve stem was damaged and so I asked about the other tire. It had a puncture and so I tried fix a flat, but it didn't work. The only thing I could do at that point was to take it next door to Midas and see if they could plug the hole in the tire. I then. Realized that valve stem was also damaged. I asked if they could replace it. I know plugs are only temporary, but in my financial situation I could not afford to buy a new tire. While they were repairing the tire I figured I may as well get the other one fixed so she wouldn't have to worry about the donut going flat. When the tires were finished I went in to pay. I was told there was no charge. I was releaved. It has been a month since I have had any income but at the same time I wasn't going to leave my co worker stuck with 2 flat tires. Since I was getting one fixed I figured it would be best to do the job right and fix both tires. I am greatful for the repairs at no charge. I went back over and put the tires back on the car and mentioned to my co worker about leaving a review for not charging to repair the tires. She said she doesn't have Internet. I went back in to put things away that I used and was talking to another co worker about the tires being repaired at no charge. We don't k ow what situation other people are in. When she told me she didn't have internet, I thought to myself, "everyone has internet". But I found out that her financial situation is so bad right now, she does not have electricity at home. I can't thank the manger, Ben Fuller, enough for repairing the tires at no charge. Since she is not able to leave feedback, I do speak for both of us. The battery in our suv died 2 blocks from this business. AAA stated that it would be at least an hour before coming out to attempt to jump the battery. I call midias to inquire about a new battery to be put in while we were so close. The lady at the register was so nice and generous she had one of her technicians drive to our location and get our suv started. When getting to midias, they were very attentive and made sure that we received the best battery,price,and warranty. If anyone needs anything done from oil change to brakes and inspections this is the place to go!!! read more

I brought my car here for inspection/emission test and they told me it failed inspection and I was quoted $500+ to replace a part (which when i checked with auto zone only costs $16). When I asked for a breakdown, they said the labor is $350...so my guess is that the rest is parts cost!!! (Again, it's only $16) Unbelievable. I took my car back, brought it to Faulkner and have them inspect it. IT PASSED! I am never going to bring my car to this place ever again!!! ... nor are my colleagues who got to know about what i went through with this center...I never expected this kind of service considering that Midas Paxton is great. I received absolutely no customer service from the folks at Midas. I had my car serviced there and in the car ride away from the shop, the problem returned. When I called to let them know I was not satisfied with the service, they were not willing to do anything to make me a happy customer. I paid them less than $200 and they will never receive my business again. Their lack of customer service has cost them more than it would to make me happy. read more

This place was great! I'd tried making an appointment at 2 other car places but they were both backed up until the following week. My A/C was not working due to a faulty compressor, I'd gone to the dealer and they ruled out underlying issues but were too busy to schedule the work for a new compressor. So was CJ's. Meanwhile it was in the 90s and humid, not a fun time to be without A/C. I called up Midas and made an appt. for the following day. As soon as I arrived, they took my car back right away to look at it (some places make you wait even if you book an appointment). The guys at Midas worked very hard removing the old compressor, installing the new one, and testing it repeatedly. They tried to get it done the same day but could not (and told me so), but they opened EARLY the next morning to be sure it was done by 9:30AM! Their price was comparable to CJ's and the dealership, but I was really impressed with the service I received here and the workmanship - it's amazing when you finally get working A/C in your car after going without it so long! I will definitely be back. Now I have 2 favorite car places :) read more

Took my vehicle to Midas for state inspection. They failed my Toyota Sienna due to leaking front struts. I informed them this vehicles struts exhibit leaks to a certain extent and passes state inspection at Toyota dealership if leak is not past lower spring mount. They would not even check with Toyota. The next day Toyota dealership passed the vehicle with no deficiencies. Midas quoted $500 for replacement struts. Glad I took their rejection.....Now they have mine. read more

I took my Lincoln in for State Inspection. I was told that the brakes needed replaced all around the vehicle. I told Jeremy that i will pick the vehicle up, do the repairs, and return for a re inspection. I took the vehicle home and the brakes were all fine and well within spec. As someone with an inspection license I can tell you they were up selling work that did not need done. I returned to inform the shop of my findings and they basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about. I took the vehicle to the dealership for inspection and yes it passed with flying colors. Midas is taking advantage of loyal customers and they will do the same thing to you. Disgraceful and disappointing to see a shop ran like this. If i could give less than one star I would. read more

I have learned over the course of years before I stopped going here that this place is the king of saying you need things repaired when you actually don't. The last straw was when I went in here for an inspection months ago and they said I needed $600 worth of repairs to my brakes and a strut for it to pass inspection but then I got a second opinion at a nearby auto shop down the road and with them I ended up passing inspection without it needing any repairs at all. They said I still have a couple years left on those parts. In the months since then nothing has happened to my brakes either. This is after previous inspections where they said I needed something to pass, but went somewhere else and they said I didn't need anything and then going back to here a year later for another inspection not having that item that needed fixed to pass inspection even get mentioned. Did those items fix themselves over the course of a year? lol. Also more than once when going here they either broke an item while inspecting it or forgot to put an item back on without telling me they broke it or forgot to put an item on it (such as brake caliper pins). I would avoid this place unless you like to spend money on repairs you don't even need or you like to have things broken on your vehicle or forgot to be put back on without being told about it. read more
