Services are: Saturday Night 6:30pm Sunday 8am and 11am Saturday night is the Ablaze service. The sermon is the same as Sunday but the praise and worship is contemporary rock and roll type Christian music. I LOVE IT. This is the service I usually go to. This was charming on the outside and simply stunning on the inside…read more The chapel has been lovingly restored and sports some of the most exquisite stained glass this side of Notre Dame in Paris. Our good friends daughter chose this location for her wedding and it was perfect in every way, except for the proud pastor needing to provide a ten minute (no exaggeration) history lesson on the chapel. While the history is interesting, it did seem out of place for this wedding celebration and sacramental ceremony. Other than that, it's a wow!

Everything is very modern and quite bare - although they do have the Stations of the Cross, a Crucifix above the altar and a small stylized gesso statue of the holy family. But there is no sense that you are entering holy ground where everyone speaks in whispers. There is always a lot of chatter and laughter even right up to the moment that Mass begins. Have been going through withdrawal symptoms ever since I left New York and your beautiful Church! I was a part of it for just over 15 years! I miss it so much it is too painful to bear.

My, My, My....how things have changed at Family Church and for the better!…read more Important: If you read nothing else beyond this first line, just know that reviews for churches are SOOOOO subjective because everyone's needs are different. I do my very best to be objective and I encourage you to always visit any church you have your heart set on and see for YOURSELF if it's fits what you need at that particularly point in your life. Updated Review: I remember visiting this church over 10 years ago and I believe the senior pastor's father was the senior pastor at the time. My experience then was not so good as I vaguely recall the pastor preaching and what stuck with me the most was something he said about owning a sports car or some vehicle that he felt he deserved and he got it. I don't want to mince words espciecally based on my aging memory for something that left me butt hurt over a decade ago. All I know is that first visit left a negative lasting impression until I visited again about 4 years ago. My more recent visit 4 years ago and this very year (2021) it was senior pastor Mike, presumably the son of the previous pastor, who was teaching. I have to say my experience years ago and this very year were extremely positive!! Pastor Mike truly brings a message of healing and hope. I'm a seasoned christian (if that even exists) and have heard messages for the past 20+ years and Mike brings fresh invitational messages of hope. The old school ways were very strict in condemnation, judgement and basically the Bible verbatim in literal form. The pastor doesn't waver from biblical truths, he just delivers the message in a way that God knows the people of this world need it now (today) because what was needed years ago might not resonate with the people of today. Isn't God mighty and ALL knowing? Well wether we like it or not the Bible does not change but the delivery of the message could be tweaked to encourage others to seek the truth from within the pages of that very book we all wholeheartedly believe in. I remember even being a christian for over a decade I'd hear a pastor preaching a message that truly felt condemning in a way that made even me feel like, "Wow! I'm doomed and there's no way out, no repentance!" but that's not how people should feel and the pastor at Family Church teaches right and wrong but in a good way. Doesn't the bible have a verse somewhere that says to say things in love? In summary: Check the place our for yourself cause you owe it to yourself to seek out the place that right for YOU; not me or another person reviewing the (or any) church. I say this in all my church reviews because these types of reviews are subjective.

This is owned, I believe, by an artist, Mike Osterhout, who has had some national recognition over the years. Mike has posted some artwork out front as well, cant put it here because of the language. But if you Google him you will find it. Was on display recently in NYC as well. They have events at the church on occasion as well. All we hear is join groups - freedom groups where you open yourself to the group about your issues and problems all the way back to childhood. Where is the psychotherapist the psychiatrist in these groups? A lot of people don't want to expose their inner issues to perfect strangers. Not many want to suffer the pain of childhood problems. Instead of preaching sermons from the Bible they preach excerpts twisted to represent these freedom groups they push. Very different from years ago. They've lost two pastors their lead worship leader Joe. Why?!!!

The senior Pastor is so warm and genuine,he always breaks the word down in a way it relates to today society. He is very witty and funny,make NO MISTAKE.... He knows his BIBLE. There is also a younger Pastor who is also a triple threat Preacher, musician and vocalist, but by no means think that when he steps to that podium you're going to be short changed the word. He knows God's word also. Many Sundays when I leave service after he preaches my spirit is so overwhelmed with joy ,I can't do anything but praise my God. The young Pastor's wife is the praise and worship leader and she sounds like an angel and the Praise and worship team can really usher the Holy Spirit in. This congregation is multicultural,all nationalities are represented and welcomed. I was a little apprehensive when I first started attending and my wife said something I will never forget,she said this is how Heaven will be all nationalities worshipping together.
