They were very beautiful dogs; our only mistake was getting two at one time. So, we brought them back to the shelter. They seemed disappointed, But we thought we were doing the right thing. They both found a home and I'm very happy about that. But we went to adopt another dog and they turned us down, said this dog was very energetic and would not be a good fit for us. To be judge n jury to people who wanted to adopt an animal out of the shelter. We were very upset and still see it up for adoption. We have a awesome dog at home and she is trying to play with the cats. The cats don't want to play with her, since she is a lot bigger then them. We have a 1/2 acker yard for them to play in. My animals are spoiled, ask my friends. So, if you're going to be that way with people, maybe you should find a different job. So, if you're looking to adopt an animal, you should go to Hernando Sheriffs adoption center.

She says to me in a stern drill Sargent voice " can you please make your daughter sit down" I looked at her and said " I have tried to make her sit the whole time I've been in here ". She then says to me " well your her mother! " surprised by her response I said "I know that! " then she spouts out "I'm just concern for her safety" and just stood there acting like she wasn't going to ring up my items at all till she sat down..my daughter was doing nothing wrong!! Every single time my parents naively continue to take ridicule from one in particular staff member with blonde hair and her condescending attitude for the sake of saving some of their hard earned pension. I feel obligated to tell our community what I have witnessed as very unacceptable customer service. My Dad is hard of hearing and as a result he speaks loudly. The staff member in question threatened to throw him out of the store and did not care one bit that I explained he was hard of hearing. Just so everyone knows my Dad is always respectful just has bad hearing and cannot hear himself sometimes. Another instance my mother asked for a price and when she uttered respectively she believed it was entirely too high the staff member said," well we don't serve your kind then" . My Mom respectively asked what she meant and the staff member then said, " white trash like you." I was floored and at that time I purposely dropped the clothing items at the register and told my parents to do the same I even complained to their adjacent office manager. The Habitat truck came at 4:00 p.m. on March 12 and announced they didn't have room in the truck for my donations. The workers assured me they would be there by 9:00 a.m. the next day. At 10:00 I called since they had not come. The lady answering the phone said the workers had a full schedule that day and were not coming by to pick up my items! What kind of management decision is that--to throw a donor under the bus because they couldn't handle me on the previous day? Why did I lose my place in line after having pre-scheduled for over a month? I would never rely on the Brooksville Habitat for Humanity for a free donation pick up.

If you aren't familiar with the way SA runs, they combine biblical teachings with an emphasis on helping "the least of them," per Matthew 25:40. I volunteered for them in another state when I was a social work student, and I found them to be particularly helpful in relation to helping families who have suffered fire or other devastating disaster or (verifiable, documented) loss. On to the Brooksville local: Not easy to find at first unless you are looking for the red sign and know your way around Brooksville and Cortez/50/Wiscon Road area. It's nestled off of the Cortez Highway in a more semi-rural area just as you come into Brooksville, from Sp Hill, or, if you are coming from Brooksville downtown or by Wal-Mart, just take Cortez or Wiscon like you are headed to Spring Hill. Look for the red sign with white lettering (see: figure one), and I will also enclose a map. First time I tried to find it at the suggestion of a friend I ended up a little lost, but that was only because my gps at the time had its own mind. I've been to a Sunday afternoon service, two "home week" (once per month ladies meetings with potluck food, fellowship and a little prayer and verse), and I am very impressed with how kind and biblical these folks are. Sometimes, there are a few things marked up in price, but those aren't many. Employees here are always friendly and helpful. The store is kept clean and well organized. The only significant issue is with the checkout process. For some reason, every Goodwill I've been in - from Florida to Maine to Wisconsin and all points in between - is agonizingly slow. I don't understand it. However, this store does do a good job in brining more cashiers up when the line starts to back up. It's not ideal, but everything else is pretty great.
