It was good when we first moved here when Rachel was the manager. So I am going to start with the employment here. My husband and I have lived here 2 years and have seen about 5 managers. One quit after ONE day. There have been plenty of maintenance staff as well. Some of the maintenance staff didn't know what they were doing- my AC was leaking awhile back and the man used MY COOKING POT to catch the leak. I called a few days later to get an update on my AC being fixed and was told the guy quit. My AC ended up flooding on 2 separate occasions, damaging the door and wall. That's when it was finally fixed. Oh, and I got my pot back. If you like your privacy, don't count on that either. Pest control/ maintenance have entered our apartment twice without any prior notice. Once, while my husband and I were sleeping. The other time was while I was in the shower and my husband on the couch. Now, onto the amenities. That's why the apartments are so expensive because of what they have to offer. The gym here is awesome, that's one of the reasons my husband and I picked the place. We cancelled our gym memberships as soon as we moved in here. However, the gym is always disgusting. The floor is dirty AND IF there are sanitary wipes (because a lot of times the container is empty) to clean the equipment, they are usually dried out. The floor is never swept. The same dead wasp has been on that gym floor for like two weeks. Recently, due to the coronavirus, this amenity, the clubhouse, and outside pool area are no longer available to residents. I pay a hefty amount of money here and was told there will be no compensation. I am not the only resident complaining of this either. Onto the pool. The pool is lovely in the summer, but management does not really care, especially when the courtesy officer brought his whole entire family to the pool and had and assortment of alcohol by the grills when it's against the rules. So it's difficult to enjoy such a beautiful pool when it's turned into a community pool; especially when the kids in the local area sneak into the apartment. We are supposed to wear pool bands, they did crack down on that for awhile, but if you have lost yours, you have to pay for a new one, IT IS $150.00 for a replacement. If you don't wear one, you will be removed from the pool. I mean it's just a rubber bracelet, I already pay to live here, you would think they would just give you the bracelet. Next, the grills. They are great, when they work. Some of them don't work. Office has been informed. The fire pit. Sometimes it work, sometimes it doesn't- making a clicking noise. The computer room. Those computers have so many viruses on them, staff has been notified. I wouldn't trust logging into anything personal on those computers anyway at this point. The printer NEVER works, always have to go into the office to ask to have something printed. The dog park. No one picks up after their dogs. The water station for dogs to drink at has been broken the whole two years I have lived here. The door to the gate has been broke for a year, if you aren't careful it comes back and hits you hard. I've gotten plenty of bruises from that door. THE TRASH COMPACTOR!!! ALWAYS broken and there is always so much trash sitting on the ramp and even in the road. Now onto when I requested to opt out of text messages and changed my preference online to maintenance messages only, but was told to just ignore the texts and that I was still going to receive them because other people liked them. How about no? I pay for my phone bill and didn't want to receive reminders. Like why be rude to your residents? If you're really tired after a long day at work, don't count on having a place to park. The property manager told me herself that there wasn't enough parking here. Even visitor spots will be filled up.

My partner and I were residents at Highland Club for four years. Our first two years were positive,…read morethanks to Samantha's management--great staff, a nice property, and a good experience overall. But everything changed when new management took over, and it was downhill from there. Starting in 2022, we had ongoing issues with our AC unit that would freeze, flood, and stop working, causing the temperature in our apartment to soar to the mid-to-upper 80s during the summer. This was not only uncomfortable but also dangerous, especially for our dog who was left at home. We submitted 17 work orders for the same issue between March 2022 and July 2024. 17 work orders for the same issue! The maintenance team has informed the front office multiple times that this issue was above their expertise but management never treated it as a priority. The situation reached a breaking point when the AC unit flooded so badly that water leaked from the ceiling onto our furniture, leaving a piece of the ceiling hanging unfixed until we moved out. Despite these ongoing frustrations, we still wanted to stay due to our attachment to the unit and renewed our lease early in late July. Our lease was confirmed on August 7, 2024. But on September 8, we received an abrupt email saying our lease agreement was canceled with no explanation or follow-up. September was chaotic for us--we were dealing with two weddings and a funeral--and with no communication from the office, we assumed we had no choice but to move out when our lease ended on October 30. We ended up spending over $1,500 on moving supplies and services. On October 28, just two days before our lease was set to end, we visited the leasing office to ask about move-out requirements and were blindsided when they told us the lease cancellation email was a mistake. Apparently, other tenants had called the office to correct similar errors, but nobody in the office reached out to clarify the mistake. By then, it was far too late to cancel our movers or change our plans. To add insult to injury, management claimed we broke the lease without giving 60 days' notice and slapped us with over $5,000 in charges for early termination. When we tried to dispute this, Shelly, the new leasing manager, but the phone conversation end in a heated argument where said she "wasn't about to argue with us" and informed us that the charges would be sent to collections. While the units and property at Highland Club are nice, the current management is unprofessional, rude, and shows zero regard for their residents' well-being. Our last two to three years there were a nightmare. I cannot recommend this property under its current management, 0/10.
