We were in Gaspe for a day as a port stop on our cruise. We rented a car to explore and one of our stops that we wanted to explore was Microbrasserie Au Frontibus. It is a small microbrewery, with quite a few choices for beer and they do offer wine, which was great. Mr. Bee did flight of beers, Vice Roi, which was a pilsner, Riviere R. Nord, Session Lorestiere an really nice IPA, Quadrupel Barrique, which he loved and lastly the nice woman at the bar offered him a taste of Sexybus, which was pink in color, and somewhat fruity.
Of course with our drinks we ordered Poutine. It was delicious and so different from the Poutine's we had in Montreal and would have on this trip. Instead of gravy the crispy and creamy fries are topped with a sweet BBQ sauce and cheese curds. We loved it. The sauce was tangy and sweet and paired with the fries perfectly.
The staff couldn't have been nicer. Everyone in the tasting room mainly speaks French and with our extremely limited French and their little bit of English we managed just fine and had so much fun with everyone. This was one of the highlights of our day in Gaspe. read more
