Well, despite all the horrid reviews my hubby went to Dr. Weisz cause that is where our insurance said to go! We went to the Post Road location and it was a great experience! Lady at front desk, friendly and helpful - not just to us either to everyone including the patient screaming and arguing with her that she did not have a copayment! Dr's nurse, friendly and thorough.. Dr. Weisz, an absolute treasure! Very thorough, lots of questions to obtain all the needed facts, listened intently then answered absolutely every single question we had. Have a procedure scheduled at Smoke Ranch locale so maybe the staff rating will change but absolutely not the Dr.'s and after all that is the most important person when one is sick! read more

Several years ago, Dr. Weisz did my colonoscopy. Because I was unable to come in 2 weeks later for a follow up, I asked that we do it by phone. I never spoke to the Dr., just his PAs. One person told me I need to repeat it in 3 years, a second person in the office told me I don't need to come in for 5 years. I never received anything in writing by way of a follow up or my results. Over a month ago, I called the office as I was having some problems. After several attempts of reaching someone, they scheduled a telephone video call for me with the Doctor. On the day of the call (May 15th), I called and texted them to find out how I am supposed to connect for my video call as I had not received any instructions. No one replied, I never had a call and to date, my texts and calls have gone unanswered. Today is June 10th. It really saddens me that this office does not give one iota of concern to their patients. Dr. Weisz is a good doctor but I wonder if he is aware of how badly run his office is. Very sad and very disappointing. Lets see if a bad review will prompt them to call. read more

Good Medicine, Really Bad Business Experience!! Dr. Weisz was very nice and professional in scheduling a Colonoscopy for me. His office arranged everything and said it was all covered by my insurance. Over 1 year "after" the procedure, and out of the blue, I get an $1,176 bill for the Anesthesiologist! Evidently, there was a last minute substitution with the Anesthesiologist and it turned out, he was not in my insurance network. "Thanks for the heads up Dr. Weisz"..... And your office was "0" help in trying to remedy this unfortunate situation. I filed a claim with the Nevada Medical Board and they have been trying to find me some relief. But too late! I got a notice from collections today and had to put the amount on a personal credit card to insure they wouldn't ding my credit. The lesson learned here is this: Just because your Doctor schedules a procedure that is fully covered by your insurance, they do not guarantee they won't arbitrarily substitute another doctor at any given time, and that doctor might not be in your network! I understand things happen, but as in this case, you didn't bother to tell me I'd have an $1,176 bill coming to me, almost a year after the procedure. Good Medicine, Bad Business Dealings! I was looking for a new doctor because the last one I had did not listen. I went and saw Dr Weisz and he was very nice listen to what I had to say. He asked a lot of questions. The staff was very nice also. When I called to make appt you have to leave a message and someone will call you back. I saw DR Weisz many times and he did everything in his power to diagnose my unknown ailment causing my distress. He made me feel at ease about my procedures and explained my treatment plan in full. He always let me talk, voice my concerns and spent a considerable amount of time with me during all my appointments. Never rushed or brushed me off. I greatly respect that. After many many tests he did to try and solve my illness, my condition ended up being a side effect from a biologic (which out of 5 specialist I was the only one who figured it out!) so I was not in need of his services any longer. Dr Weisz is good Dr. He's warm, friendly and makes you feel at ease with more initiate procedures. His nurse is super too. She's just so nice! The reason for 2 stars is the front office staff and scheduling. They are awful! I understand we are in the middle of a pandemic and everyone is busy but you should never have to fight for your prescriptions or appointments. My oncologist wanted me to have 2 procedures done asap and gave me a referral to Dr Weisz since I was already a patient. It took nearly 2 months of leaving voice, fax and web messages before I happened to finally catch the lady in scheduling via calling. I was able to schedule an appointment but unfortunately I had to cancel it since I had a fever (not covid related). Someone from front office called to confirm the cancelation and couldn't reschedule me and scheduling was on a break so I left a message. This was a month ago. I still haven't heard back. I've since left a message for refills my my ppi and several web & voice messages for procedure but no one will call me back. I'm sick daily, I'm highly anemic and I can constantly have a stomachache. My experience with Dr. Weisz was fine. The staff was cordial and efficient. Their billing service is as bad as any I have ever confronted. If I could give them less than a star I would. I had a simple billing question and called them several times to get an answer. I had a large practice myself and there was always a method to contact the billing service by phone or email. They have no chat line or email contact. For that matter neither does Dr. Weisz. When you call the office you are lucky to get someone to call back the same day. Most everything goes to voice mail. I do not know if they if their billing service is in house or a third party contractor. The bill sent to has minimal information other than a phone number and you are provided with an undersized envelope. With a billing service like this the good doctor will lose money because the customer service is absent. read more

Dr Weisz was very warm and compassionate. The office was professional and helpful. I had to teleconference but it was fine.

Initially I felt the Dr was patient and calming etc. I did a colonoscopy with him and his diagnosis was "I THINK you have Crohn's". Well that's a pretty horrible disease. How can we be sure was my question to him. "Im pretty sure". Prescribed a drug to me that turns out is a chemotherapy drug. I didn't fill it. Felt like I should get a second opinion. Dr Weitz is a true professional he works with quick precision gets to the point! Your health! He's number one and has the education to prove it he knows this business. He cares. I was terrified at one point of past doctors experience. I got a appointment with Dr Weitz he got to the point. I didn't wait he listened to me and within a week I had a endoscopy and colonoscopy and biopsy he's truly working to find out issues. I've met people in his office who said he helped another friend changed her life. I'm very lucky to have found him and hope this helps you as well. God bless it's not easy. read more

Update 8-12-17 - It turns out the original snafu with incorrect scheduling worked in my favor. I really like Dr. Weisz and particularly his really warm, genuine feeling presence. His staff has been on the ball as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have HPN & have to see SW Medical for everything. The wait for a doc there for just routine colonoscopy was nearly 6 months. Dr. Weisz is an "overflow" doc for SW medical so i got to see him in 3 or 4 weeks. I will say the first appointment was a total miss. The way the insurance/referral works is you can only see the doctor who is on the referral, not the entire practice. I was actually scheduled to see another doctor in the office so I showed up, but didn't get seen. I rescheduled the following week with Dr. Weisz. I had a fairly routine, brief consultation and then scheduled for colonoscopy. I was on time. They were on time. IV was best ever. They went in the arm instead of the hand so way less painful. (I don't know why the hand thing give me the heebie-jeebies since I'm a regular blood donor!) Nurse and doc were all nice, upbeat, etc. Let's face it... it's an undignified procedure. the good news is I was out and then awake and no memory. The doctor came out after sedation wore off and told me the findings and what to do. They also gave me printed record. I followed up the next day to schedule an appointment and was offered something 4 days out provided biopsy was back. I was happy about that because waiting without information is stressful. I think the worse thing is their phone system. They admitted something was wrong. You can end up in queue and never get answered. I figure it's an endless loop of call forwarding between the offices. As I type this I'm on hold to see if my test results are back yet.... read more

IF YOU WANT ANY KIND OF APPROPRIATE BILLING OR ANY RESPECTFUL SERVICE AT ALL FROM A DOCTOR'S OFFICE STAFF, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They completely screwed up my insurance billing and took months to process the claim with my insurance, then wanted months more to refund a $500 deposit that wasn't due them. Meanwhile, they don't care if I eat. Horrible place - just horrible in termns of rudeness and ineffective service. Too bad, the doctor's fairly good,, but you shouldn't have to go through months of grief and disrespectful treatment to have access to him. RUN FROM THIS PLACE. There are plenty of good doctors in town that have staffs that have respect for their patients....... read more

What an absolute joke. I tried for a month to make an appointment after being referred here and was unable to. They don't even have a person answering the phone. Have to leave a message and they call you back if they want and when they do call you a few days later they have to transfer you to the scheduling lady who is on break or lunch so back to square one. I did ALL of this preparation for my sigmoidoscopy, only to be turned away because I didn't have a person I actually KNEW that could give me a ride. Oh BOY was I mad. I told them that NOWHERE in my paperwork does it say I'm REQUIRED to have a family/friend driver. All I had was an uber driver cause I don't know anyone in Nevada! When I asked why, she gave me about a dozen reasons which made zero sense (I argued them all), until she finally settled on the "well an uber driver can't call the paramedics or take you to the hospital if anything goes wrong." Um, first of all, LOL!!!!! Second - I can see this is clearly a liability issue & to protect their own behind, but I don't care because this was NOT STATED IN MY PAPERWORK!! I took off work to come here only to be turned away because they do not accept uber drivers & can't fix their d---- paperwork! My last & most important complaint is with Dr. Weisz & his awful bedside manner. He comes across as impatient, arrogant, & flat out COLD. I felt very rushed from my first apt. I could have explained ALL of my very relevant info regarding my symptoms in a matter of 3 to 4 minutes TOPS, but I guess that's too long for him cause he would interrupt me every 3-5 seconds (trying to rush me & type in his computer) which just made me uneasy & give up completely after 2 minutes. I can understand a doctor trying to verify what I'm saying, YES. But he kept impatiently asking the same questions to which I finally said "if you would let me FINISH I would answer all of your questions!!!" Jeez! Then, when I came in for my biopsy results, he told me I had "very mild gastritis (not caused by h.pylori) so its fine" When I asked him what the next step was to determine the cause (so I can FINALLY get this treated after a YEAR), he said "well there's lots of causes." Um, no s--- sherlock that's why I'm HERE!! SMH. I already did pretty extensive research on gastritis before coming in, (so call me crazy) but I was prepared to get quality care in regard to getting to the underlying root cause so I can treat it. But instead, I got a very careless, disconnected & unconcerned doctor that just made jokes & wasn't taking this as serious as I was. I guess I gave Dr. Weisz waaaay more credit than he deserved?! I couldn't get any info from him regarding testing or any referrals to find the cause, so I then asked about treatment. He recommended I take a prescription antacid to which I replied "so I'm just supposed to take an antacid the rest of my life even though I've told you multiple times I don't take prescription meds???" He just shrugged. O-M-G! Every time I've seen him (3 times total) I told him EACH time I do NOT take prescription meds, & EACH TIME he tries to write me a prescription for something! He tried to put me on Nexium, (a proton pump inhibitor) which can actually make gastritis WORSE! This guy SUCKS! Listen, folks: I do not discredit western medicine, but I find this circumstance I was in (among MANY), a prime example of why I'm leaning toward more functional (holistic) medicine! What kind of doctor doesn't respect your multiple requests to not take meds?? What kind of doctor prescribes a medication when he doesn't even know what your condition is caused by?! And lastly, what kind of doctor doesn't CARE to figure out the underlying cause of your issues??? See what I'm getting at here? Unethical & greedy. Please, do your own research, be your own advocate & don't waste your time with this guy, he is clearly all about SICKCARE (making $$$) and NOT preventative HEALTHCARE! read more

A doctor is as good as his office staff. He might have the best practice in his field but if the office staff he employs drops the ball on the simplest of office duties then he needs to fire all those who are inept. Naomi is the office staffer incharge of sending lab requests to the appropriate office, for example Steinberg Diagnostics. On 10/3/11 after my appointment with dr weisz he ordered an ultrasound to be done at Steinberg Diagnostics. At check out Noemi said she would fax the order to Steinberg. I told her that the last time I was there she never faxed the order to Steinberg and my appointment had to be postponed until she faxed the order. She assured me she would fax it this time. Well she didn't my appointment was at 7 am and steinberg did not get the fax. They called Weiss office only to be told that the office staff does not start till 9 am. I left and drove to Weiss office by this time it was 7:30am and yes the office was open. I walked in and asked for the office manager I was told she wasn't in yet, I then told Jackie what the problem was she printed the order and I took the copy with me. On my way out I saw dr. Weiss I expressed my concerns he said noemi was the best in the office. Hmm I lost a day of work because of her ineptness. Steinberg put me on standby for my ultrasound so I waited all day till around 2 pm to be seen. read more

First - check the dates on the previous reviews!!! I initially tried to not use Dr. Weisz based on the reviews, but my insurance would only let me use him. I am so glad! He was amazing. He took the time to talk to me about the routine colonoscopy I was going to get, reviewed my medical history, made sure my heart/lungs/intestines were in working order and answered any questions I had. One thing to remember about this kind of specialist - the initial visit is merely a 'meet and greet' and to determine if a procedure is really needed. Generally, a referral from a primary doctor is required, so it has already been established that it is likely that the procedure is necessary. So, don't expect a full on exam. As a side note, the prep for a colonoscopy from Dr. Weisz is so much easier and cheaper than what the doctor required for my husband earlier this spring. (Different insurance.) Also, the front office staff were really nice. read more

Dr Mickey Weisz is a very nice doctor and he asked me all the right questions. I went for 5 months and each time he charged me $40 and gave me a new prescription. However, his staff is terrible. They never never call you back, they never check with your insurance to see if your insurance will pay for a particular prescription. Then when I need the staff to authorize a medication through my insurance company they can't do that either. I will never go back to his office, I don't know where Dr hires his staff but they are incompetent, no accountability and there is no one to complain to. read more

I had my first colonoscopy with Dr. Weisz, I did it with no sedation. He was amazing, so kind, gentle and explained everything as we were going through it. The girls that assisted him were all kind and gave expert patient care. It was very hard to find a doctor to do the colonscopy without sedation. For those of you who dont want to be sedated its a piece of cake and he is awesome. I highly reccommend him for your GI needs. He has a great bedside mannor, patient and caring and concerned. My experience was tragic! After 2 agonizing months of micro-managing the progress of Dr. Weisz' office staff clearing authorization from my insurance company for medication caused me to make a decision to go elsewhere. Dr. Weisz is so busy, that he cannot oversee his office staff to ensure that his patients are getting the treatment he prescribes. The office staff personnel moving at a snail's pace caused my insurance company to deny the claim for the treatment plan Dr. Weisz prescribed. The insurance company needed further documentation and Dr. Weisz' office failed to provide it to them. What was most upsetting about the 2 months of fussing with his staff and trying to get pre-authorization was that Dr. Weisz didn't show any genuine concern about the denial. He perceived himself to be disconnected and unconcerned. He offered to have me talk to the office staff AGAIN to correct the denial. No thanks ..... I am going elsewhere! read more

With severe intestinal inflammation and after seeing another GI specialist who spent all of 5 minutes with me before trying to sell me on an (unnecessary) endoscopy i thankfully found Dr. Weisz. He spent over a 1/2 hour doing a detailed examination and interview, determined that an endoscopy or even a CT scan was not necessary at this point, gave me a dietary regime to ease my symptoms and scheduled follow-up with me. And, I saw those earlier comments about his staff - I found his staff both in person and over the phone to be excellent, courteous, and professional. All around a great experience! read more

I had an appointment with this doctor at 12 noon when I walked in to register there was approximately 11 people shitting in his waiting room I asked the nurse how long it would be and she said she couldn't answer that I waited one and a half hours to see this doctor when he walked in and sat down I asked them how long do you expect a patient to wait to see you, his reply was well sometimes other patients take more time would you like to make another appointment or go to another doctor and I told him if he was not so damn money hungry and over scheduling like he's doing he wouldn't have pissed off patients I would not recommend this doctor because all he is money hungry he does not care if his patients have to sit there for an hour and a half read more
