This group's front office is one of the rudest we've ever encountered. We can't believe that they are in the business of patient care. The entire front desk staff needs to be fired and replaced with people who know how to talk professionally and with respect to their patients. If not for the great doctors in this practice, we'd be long gone and would never return to this practice. The front desk is completely unhelpful and simply unbelievably rude. They are arrogant because they know that their patients are heart patients and cannot switch that easily to other cardiologists, so the front office thinks they can talk in any manner to their patients whether it be on the phone or in-person. Trying to get the staff to call in prescription medication to our pharmacy is a nightmare in and of itself and the office staff simply don't care. Unbelievably poor interpersonal skills! read more

I had a disturbing experience with Dr. Devlin recently. Following two heart attacks, I found myself experiencing daily chest pressure and shortness of breath. I brought these symptoms to his attention, and asked about their cause and how long they might persist. I also asked if they could be related to PVCs. His response was dismissive, he stated, "I don't know, but they're not PVCs." He also mentioned the word "blockage" which very much scared me! What was frustrating was, Dr. Devlin never made any concrete actions, such as adjusting my medication or scheduling an ultrasound. When I inquired about the strength and overall condition of my heart, his response was equally worrisome, "It's past that point," then he abruptly walked out of the examination room. I was left feeling neglected and disappointed by his lack of care and professionalism. I plan to file a complaint with the Bureau of Professional Licensing and my insurance provider. read more

I have been treated by this practice for many years. I have always found their stuff to be professional and helpful. Not sure where the bad reviews come from since I have always found this office a pleasure to do business with. Any request is promptly taken care of. This is your one stop shop for heart health. Hmm, maybe heart and stop in the same sentence is not a good idea, but I've recommended the doctors here to many people. read more

Been with this group for years and I'm just about done with them. There billing area rips you off every chance they get. If you want honest quality care from a heart doctor this might not be the place for you. Nurse practitioners are the doctors there and charge doctors premiums if not more. The reason I came here was to see Dr. Kutinsky she was once in a building across the street from the Hospital. Everything was ok there but the group is very unorganized. Giving out wrong meds compounding more problems. Please if you like to relax and have a good experience with a cardiologist this is not the place for you. The quality of care has gone way down here. Dr. Cragg has put my entire trust in him and his staff. He has put both of my pacemakers in since 1993, and we're looking forward to my next install sometime in 2019. The MA for DR Girard was unable to understand English while transcribing during my appointment. As a result, one of my prescriptions was not sent. Asked a question of Dr Girard through MyChart, and the nurse who responded couldn't be bothered to answer accurately or with an actual sentence, and clearly didn't read my request. A medication that I've been prescribed for YEARS was missing from the rest of my meds after my appointment, is covered by my insurance, yet the nurse can't be bothered with and completely ignored my request. Asked for in person appointment, and they don't document anything apparently, so I get umpteen phone calls asking if I want to do a Zoom appt with a cardiologist I haven't seen in over 2 years after I SPECIFICALLY requested in person. I guess even less work for the nurse if the patient does a virtual visit. Disappointing after all these years, but I want a reliable doc with my history, so I'm going to start looking around. Previous issues with their office setting up MyChart initially- so I'm stuck with a user name that isn't user friendly- they "decided" for me. read more

I would not seek medical care for my own cardiac issues from Michigan Heart Group. My husband was assigned to MHG when he was admitted through the ER at Troy Beaumont. He was seen by and billed by multiple staff members of MHG on the same day many times. Two weeks after my husband died at home under care from Hospice I received a highly insensitive phone call cheerily asking to speak to "Ron" about his next appointment! When I told the lady who had called he had died 2 weeks ago she was kind of speechless, then said "Oh, I don't have that information" and hung up. I wrote MHG to ask for an apology and for the group to send me outstanding bills so I could put this nightmare behind me, but here it is, almost 4 months and I have yet to get an answer from MHG. I recently saw Dr. Williamson for an appointment. I have to start by saying the office is very slow and incompetent. It took several weeks to have an appointment after repeating to every receptionist that I was referred and had to be seen within a month. I was supposed to see Dr. Kutinsky, but she was unavailable till November despite my situation being urgent (currently pregnant). The office staff told me that Dr. Williamson was available; however, I could never see Dr. Kutinsky again. This is very bizarre and I have never had to make such an odd agreement at any other physician office before. After my appointment with Dr. Williamson, I could see why patients would try to switch. He was not prompt and very rude. He had the worst bed side manner that I have ever encountered. Definitely not worth the copay. I know that there are not many cardiology EP's, but please save yourself frustration and do not see him or any physician at the office. read more

I have never seen a more unorganized office. Went in for a carotid doppler and cardiac echo only to find out that one of the procedures had been canceled. The office never contacted me. I reschedule the carotid doppler and confirm the appointment the day before with the office. Later that evening I get a letter in the mail saying that the office will not be available for my carotid doppler that I must call and reschedule. WHAT?? I just talked to the office and they said my appointment was good. You will wait on hold forever before someone answers the phone. Person at the front desk when I did check in had an attitude. It's been over 20 years since my heart attack and have had no issues or problem since going to Michigan Heart Group. Although the waiting room is full they promptly get you into the exam room without a long wait. Always feel the doctors are professional and caring. read more

The doctors are fine, but their BILLING DEPARTMENT is the worst I've ever seen. I have been fighting for MONTHS to get back overpaid co-pays that I was overcharged for in the first place. Every month or so when I call i hear the same old " You should have your refund in 2 weeks" Well that was MONTHS AGO!!!!!! I will be cancelling all future appointments and they can lose out on hundreds if not thousands. I'm done with this place. read more

Dr. Kutinsky is a truly knowledgeable professional. She is a caring doctor. I have only good things to say about her. Her cheery personality puts you at ease instantly. She is thorough and I never feel rushed. I am very pleased with the level of care. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Very rarely do I have to wait past my appt time. read more

Disorganized and unprofessional. I went in for a stress echo using a bike. The room was not prepared. They gave me a paper cape that was too small and did not close in front and then wanted me to walk across the hall like that. While I was changing a male PA knocked, then entered the room without waiting for an ok. He apologized then proceeded to get what he needed from the room while I was standing these half dressed. I was very embarrassed. When they finally got the oversized bike in the small room, I had to climb over furniture to get on the bike because it was so crowded in the room. Dr. Bowers seemed ok but I only saw him for 10 minutes on my initial visit. I couldn't wait to get out of there. I will not go back! read more

This is not a review about the doctors. My wife was seen by one of their docs in the hospital & we were referred to the office for follow up. Sat on hold 3 times before speaking to someone who would not schedule the appointment, said they would call back in 24 hours. Right, 2 days later I started calling again & finally got an appointment scheduled. The appointment actually was fairly quick & efficient but was with a PA not the doc. She was cordial but abrupt & gave info that somewhat contradicted what the hospital said. We needed a script renewal & I was very specific about the pharmacy but later, we find they sent the script to a different pharmacy. I phoned twice trying to get this resolved & left messages explaining the situation, a week later & still no reply. We went to family doc, got script & a referral to another cardiologist. I phoned Michigan Heart Group today to cancel the future appointments, & they asked if we coming back. When I said no, they did not even question the reason. I'm sure the doctors are fine but the rest of the practice is terrible. read more
