The waiting room and office is very clean. I was seen very shortly after I arrived. The Doctor took his time examining my foot, asked questions and answered each of mine on a level I understood. He showed me my X-rays and explained in detail what was wrong with my foot and why I was feeling pain. The pain is gone and the healing has begun. He came highly recommended and I chose a great podiatrist!! Thank God!

I had been in search of a competent podiatrist as the last podiatrist I consulted with about my 20 year issue didn't really seem interested in my foot medical history nor was he sympathetic to how sensitive I was about the protruding bunion. I decided to visit Horsley Foot and Ankle to find out about the non-invasive options. When I made the appointment, I was assigned to Kairi Horsley. When I met him, I was a little skeptical because I could tell he was the younger Horsley doctor. I explained that I had been struggling with this bunion for over 20 years and was hoping for a non-invasive procedure. After his examination, he informed me that unfortunately my deformity couldn't be corrected through a non-invasive procedure. He could tell that I was very disappointed. He immediately showed concern for my issue and assured me that he could still help. He explained a medical procedure called Lapidus that was very successful in correcting my issue. He confidently assured me that he had performed the procedure successfully many times. His knowledge of the procedure and sensitivity to my anxiety of this invasive option, helped me to finally decide to address this 20 year issue. I had the Lapidus procedure over two weeks ago and the results are very impressive. I would recommend Horsley Foot and Ankle to anyone seeking podiatric services. B. Coleman

As if having a size 10 foot on 5'7 frame wasn't aggravating enough, all the years of wearing…read moreuncomfortable footwear (cough, cough 3+ inch heels) had finally caught up with me and left me with ingrown toenails. I felt gross and my toesies were in pain. There was also NOT A CHANCE was going to give up wearing heels. A friend suggested I get a pedicure from a Podiatrist. Anything but Dr. Scholls I thought, so I'll give it a try. Upon entering the office (which is a teensy bit difficult to find- it is behind the gas station and the Burger King), I was greeted immediately. I never have felt so welcomed into a doctor's office as this place. So when my time came to see Dr. Duncan, I was at ease- after all, I AM getting a pedicure. How bad can it be? Well upon speaking Dr. Duncan she understood that I was not going to budge and even assured me that my heel wearing days were not over. The bad news was that the shot (wait... shot?) was the most painful part of the procedure (hmmm, something seems fishy.. am I NOT here to get a pedicure?). In fact, I WASN'T there to get a pedicure, but rather have minor surgery on both my feet.. on the same day. Sorry Toto, we're not in Kansas anymore... After a number of curse words flew quite liberally from my mouth- it was over. I was promised that there was a 1% chance that the ingrowns would ever come back.. and well... so far so good! Every single person in that office was so friendly, I'm almost bummed that my foot problems are over... wait, maybe not. Also, freedom from painful toes didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I highly recommend this practice as they really strive to improve your quality of life, but also do a darn good job!

During the winter of 2010 I sustained a stress-fracture in one of the metatarsal bones in my left…read morefoot - the result of strenuous workouts. I went to Foot Healthcare Associates based on the other review here. My experience wasn't bad, it just wasn't great and I feel I need to elaborate. Firstly, I had been walking around on the stress fracture for two weeks before I made it to this office. I brought the xray films from my regular doctor (who couldn't diagnose me) and a young lady doctor (can't remember her name, but it was African) took one look at them and diagnosed the stress fracture. I was impressed. She gave me VERY minimal self-care guidelines, though, and a boot for a few months. My frustration was with the overall feel of the office, as well as the lack of self-care guidelines. The office itself is relatively updated, but it's a flurry of staff and noise. People all over the place talking loudly, almost as if I were in the break-room gossiping with them. Their xray machine seems older, and the tech who administered the xrays "OFFERED" me the protective lead vest and had me sign the pregnancy waiver after it was all done. In other words, it should be standard procedure for the patient to wear the vest, no matter what (at least that makes sense to me), and the waiver should be signed beforehand. This happened with each subsequent appointment at my follow-ups. Fast forward to November, 2011 and I think I re-injured the stress-fracture. I made a last-minute appointment with another doctor in the same office. They took more xrays (again waiver and vest were skipped) but they couldn't see the reinjury (which is fine, stress fractures are almost impossible to see). He did some VERY minor manipulations on my foot and gave me a boot. Gave me NO self-care guildelines at all. I wore the boot for about a week and the pain was gone - so I didn't refracture it, and since there wasn't any other investigation done on the doctor's part, I don't know what I did. My foot is fine now, and there were no horrible mistakes or issues, but I just feel like if I didn't have prior experience working in a physical therapy setting or have some athletic-mindedness, I could have VERY easily made my issue worse.
