This business is a scam disguised as a salon. Nobody here knows how to do hair. The owner complained about how bad her employees are the entire time she did my hair, while she herself was butchering my hair. Now I have to wait to start over, not to mention the fact that I have never been charged so much to get my hair done. She charged me for services she didn't even provide and I'm still in the process with the bank and bbb to sort everything out. I plan on reporting her to the board of cosmetology when everything else is done. read more

My community hosted a benefit for me after my son passed away tragically. Michelle's Hot Mess donated 2 gift certificates, when the owner donated them, she said one was to be auctioned in the Chinese auction, and the other was to be given to me so I could relax with an hour long massage after what I had been through. When I called to schedule the massage, the owner would not honor it. She first said the certificate was not supposed to be given to me. Then she said the certificate was expired, which it wasn't. Her final excuse was that the person who donated it, no longer worked for her, and she offered me a haircut instead. I declined the haircut. Not a good way to run a business. read more

I would like my friends and family to hear of the experience I went through at Michelle's Hot Mess. On May 21, 2013 I paid $100.00 for a perm with the orange rollers. I waited the 48 hours until I could wash it. The results I had were okay until after they wore out after a week and two days! I went back in originally to get my money back but was talked into trying another perm by Michelle. Michelle said the reason why the curls didn't stay the first time is because my hair weighed it down...okay so then why did your stylist use those type of rollers knowing how thick and heavy my hair is? I'm not the stylist I don't know what rollers will hold or not hold my hair type! I then heard that if I got a second perm it would damage my hair so I asked Michelle and she told me no that it would be okay and said she would do the pink rollers. So therefore I received my second perm on May 30, 2013 and Michelle decided that she would do the sponges instead. At the end of the perm I asked Michelle if she thinks it will hold because of my hair and she said yes. Mind you she didn't trim my ends after the perm. I waited 48 hours and washed my hair today with no results! Fresh out of the shower I went in o show Michelle that I wasn't satisfied and wanted my money back after two attempts and the first thing out of Michelle's mouth was "What do you keep doing to your hair?". I have done nothing but done what they have told me to do. I was then ganged up on by Michelle and her receptionist. Michelle says I asked for wavy and not curly but my hair was pin straight before any perms and now after the second perm it has more volume. I'm sorry I'm not looking for volume I was look for wavy or curls but instead I have NOTHING. My end are damaged and my hair is dry. I walked out of her store mad as hell and then my fiance went in to have a word with Michelle when her receptionist got cocky with him and told him that Michelle's Hot Mess was not the place to be discussing the matter...please fill us in where you want us to discuss this matter or for the rudeness we both received today! What happened to "the customer is always right" motto or here's Michelle's motto "We strive to provide you,our guest, with services to enhance the way you look and feel. Our experienced team recognize the importance of working with you and listening to your needs in order to achieve the results you desire" but yet the results I received have been all negative and there's no perm in my hair for the $100.00 I paid! I will be calling the Better Business Bureau to inform them of my experience and the negativity and rudeness I received from this salon. I would not recommend Michelle's Hot Mess to any friends or family because you will go home looking like a hot mess as I have!!! read more

I used this salon for my wedding. And I wish I hadn't. I was charged extra money for having my bridal party there because she shut the salon down for 2 hours. She charged me initially for a bridal run through which I never received because I didn't want too. Michelle did my hair herself and my hair looked nothing looked the picture I literally cried because it looked so bad. I literally had to redo my hair before my wedding. Every single one of my acrylic puffy nails came off within a week and they were literally 70 dollars. My bridesmaids gel nail polish chipped within three days. Their pedicures were all messy. I was quoted at 45 dollars for half up half down and they were all charged 65. And when she was confronted about it on Facebook she was extremely nasty. After the girl who was supposed to do my makeup at another salon cancelled on me the day of my wedding, Michelle's Hot Mess got me an appointment promptly without any problem. When I told them about my problem they were super sympathetic. They made me feel beautiful on my wedding day and treated me like we were best friends. i went there to get a pedi,and was not impressed at all!!!!!! i had french tips done by the next day my tips were gone!!! they acted like they didnt care at all it was not relaxing it was quite annoying in fact!! so i went back again today!! lets see how long it last this time!!! for $37.00 it better last,or my husband will be going next time!!! read more
