That said, Catalano Studio is the only place that I'd ever consider using for professional photography. Jeani is the sweetest person on earth, and her photographs are beautiful works of art. They're worth every penny (and she's not cheap). Jeani's studio used to be on Robbins Ave. in Northeast Philly, but she finally was doing so well with her business that she bought a single Victorian home on Bristol Pike, near the St. Katherine Drexel compound, and restored it. She now uses it as her studio, and it is filled with period furniture. The building is gorgeous, and the decor and furniture is amazing. Jeani did my Communion portraits when I was a little girl, and her pictures made me look like a beautiful little china doll. When I graduated from college, I had her do some more portraits of me, both in my cap and gown, but also in a really pretty dress in her beautiful butterfly garden out back. The only bad thing was that I got eaten alive by mosquitoes in her back yard b/c it was a summer evening, and I had on a dress and bare feet, and I am mosquitoes' favorite snack no matter where I go. But the pictures turned out beautifully. My mom also had her restore the photos of my grandparents' wedding, and they turned out really, really well. Someday, if I get married, I only want Jeani to do the wedding photos. She's amazing. *I can't post any of her photos online b/c they are copyrighted, but go to her website, and you can see some of her work.

I can't believe that I have never written a review for my experience using Artistic Imagery…read more(specifically Isaac Bensadoun) for the photography for my March 2007 wedding! We found Isaac in a most unlikely way, having been stood up for a meeting with a different photography studio, and literally stumbling across a home studio location he had nearby at that time. He welcomed us in at 8:30 on a Tuesday night and was happy to have an impromptu meeting to show us some of his work. My fiancee and I were impressed with the photos, and felt that some special magic had led us to this photographer. We knew we wanted to enlist his services, but were concerned that the photo packages were out of our desired budget. Over the course of a few days, Artistic Imagery was able to offer us a bit of a discount since our wedding was in the "off" season. I also decided that, of all of the things I was spending wedding money on, the pictures were one of the few that would still REALLY matter decades down the road. It was one of my best wedding related decisions! I had several conversations with Isaac leading up to the wedding regarding the specifics of where we would be doing photos, what group shots I wanted, etc. Things went very smoothly the day of the wedding, and the finished photos were a beautiful reflection of the day - a nice blend of portraits, candids and photojournalism. Guests commented later that they they had so much fun talking with our photographer that they were sure he was some dear friend of ours who just happened to be taking pictures. He made everyone look their joyful and beautiful best. We had a few minor glitches in getting our finished album laid out and delivered, but they were all resolved in a timely fashion. I would recommend this studio (and especially Isaac) without reservation to anyone who could fit them into their budget.

We have to give Artistic Imagery 5 stars, and we haven't even received our pictures yet. Based on…read morethe quality of service already received, and the portfolio of Gina, our photographer, we're sure the superb rating will be maintained. Artistic Imagery met us at our budget and even provided a second photographer for us when we couldn't make room for it in our constraints. Working with Gina and her assistant Chris was a dream! They were professional and friendly, easy to talk to, very good with directions, and had a great rapport with the venue staff as well. I got a sneak peak at one of the shots she had taken and and now we're so excited to see them all. Everything was well planned and organized, Gina knew what she was doing even outside of the scope of photography. We could not have asked for a better experience!!

If you want photography that captures the spirit, essence, emotion of your love story, your family, your wedding day and beyond, hire Shannon. If you want a photographer who is actively trying to make the wedding industry and world a better place, hire Shannon. If you want someone by your side, who will make everyone feel comfortable and capture everyone, as their authentic selves, hire Shannon. And of course, if you want to nerd out over pop culture and have positive, affirming, supportive and fun communication leading up to whatever event or shoot, hire Shannon. It will be one of the best decisions you make. I found Shannon's work on the site, A Practical Wedding, and shortly after, my partner and I scheduled a video call with them. Immediately after talking with them, we knew we wanted them to be the person to photograph our engagement, wedding (and hopefully more in the future)! We just clicked. Their work is bright, airy, colorful and creative, full of details and unique composition. They make space for everyone's requests and makes everyone feel at ease -- whether it's kids or you as the couple, so it doesn't matter if you typically feel comfortable in front of the camera or not, Shannon's personality and thoughtfulness makes you comfortable. Both for our engagement and our wedding day, they never over-directed us, they just let us be who we are and gave us the occasional suggestion for a pose, all while cheering us on. They graciously worked with us to move the date (twice!) when we had to postpone due to the pandemic, in addition to giving us emotional support during the process. Shannon also scouted our new venue with us when we moved location as well. They went above and beyond what we expected in every way. TL;DR: Shannon Collins is an incredible person and photographer and my husband and I are so unbelievably happy that we hired them. Everyone in our family and wedding party adored them, and my mom, who is the biggest critic even said, "There's just not one bad photo. They're all beautiful," and she's 100% right. Thank you, Shannon, for everything!

She captured all of the perfect little decor details, all of my emotions opening gifts and greeting guests, and she took great candids of friends and fam. She also took some boudoir pics for a gift for the hubs. I was very comfortable working with her and she took lovely, romantic, (and sexy!) shots and she was patient with my billion ideas for what I wanted to try. I also had the pleasure of seeing her in action at my friends' wedding this summer- again she was completely unobtrusive and delightful with great energy. I can't wait to see the pics!
