I received my cast iron plant today (March 21st) after ordering it March 10th and paying for faster shipping. The plant arrived in a box that was not labeled so had been thrown around in transit resulting in the plant not being in the pot and soil thrown everywhere, and parts of the roots drying out. I immediately had to repot the plant which I wasn't prepared to do, but it's a good thing I did because there was small worms all in the soil. Considering the money I paid, the time it took to receive the order, and that this house plant was infested with insects I won't be recommending this company. read more

I live in Arizona. I wish I would have read the reviews before I purchased (2) Ann Marie Lantana, not the lantana they sent me. Looks like "bandana" lantana. A nursery should know the difference!! Poor customer service! The shipment box was damaged, and the dirt was more in the box than around the plants. Don't waste your time with this nursery. read more

Ordered horsetail from these guys. Supposed to be 1-2' tall except they arrived packed upright and in a 16" tall box, shipped with the plants bent in half. So all arrived damaged and in poor condition and most were under 1' tall. Contacted them right away with pictures and followed up a few times but no response. Do not waste your money. read more

I ordered 5 nandina plants in 3 different varieties which are all supposed to go in very specific places in our landscape. Nothing was labeled leaving me to guess which is which. Being this young in 1 gallon containers, it really isn't possible for anyone not extremely familiar with these plants to determine the variety. I need to send photos via email, but no email provided to easily resolve this. A company that needlessly adds extra work to your project. read more

I found Michael's Nursery online searching for a specific kind of plant. I called the owner, Michael, with some questions and could tell right away that he is incredibly knowledgeable. He even thoughtfully sends out the plants timed to maximize what's best for the plants. They arrived in perfect condition. Michael is a delightful character and was great fun to talk to! When my purchase amount wasn't quite up to the minimum for free shipping, he waived that immediately, and had his very helpful son, Josh, set up a discount code for me in no time. Very happy. Unbelievable disappointment. They shipped me the wrong plants. Dylan kept telling me the correct plants were going to be shipped but would never provide a tracking #. The plants never arrived. Then they would never answer the phone or make contact to try and resolve the issue. I would highly highly recommend you not do online business with these people. 1 star is too high. I ordered 9 plants from Michael's nursery to be shipped to Seattle, Washington. The size and condition they showed up in was beyond disappointing. The 1 gallon pot said the plant would be 1'-2', 8 of the 9 plants were about 6" and one was about 9". They all showed up almost dead. They threw a plastic bag over the pot and threw them in a standard moving box with so much extra room and no support that they just tumbled around in the box for a week during shipping. They all arrived clinging to life and I'm not sure all or maybe any will live. The nursery in person may be wonderful, but I would not recommend ordering through the mail. I have had plants shipped (during Covid lockdown, so same conditions) from other nurseries and they have shown up beautifully packaged and healthy and happy. I ordered from Michael's because they were $7 cheaper per plant than what I found locally but I now wish I spent the extra seven dollars each for an 18" healthy plant here. read more

I wish I had read the customer reviews of Michael's Nursery before making my purchase. I ordered 2 of the Rose Creek Abelia Bushes, 3 gallon containers. They were shipped in a plain, unmarked cardboard box with absolutely no labels or arrows indicating that the box should be kept upright. My Abelia Bushes were delivered upside down. One of the containers had a cane, or bamboo, stick stuck through the bush into the container and though the bush was still in the container, a lot of the soil had fallen out. The other Abelia did not have any kind of stick and it had come out of the container and was sideways in the box with most of the soil on the inside of the cardboard box and not the container. It was crunched and broken on one side. Both were also very dry. I emailed Michael's nursery to the "Contact" email on their website and also via a direct email, both of which I included photos and a description. I did not ask for anything other than advise or guidance on how to save the broken and crunched Abelia bush. They will not respond to me. I will also add that the 3 gallon size Abelia bushes were much smaller than I had anticipated. I have learned my lesson dealing with Michael's Nursery and will never order from them again. read more

I ordered 14 plants from this company back April 17,2023. I received only 13 plants which I paid $14.99 per plant. I immediately contacted the company to let them know of the missing plant. I was told to send pictures of the order along with order number etc. I submitted per request and was told by Dylan that I would get the plant mailed out on Monday or Wednesday.Well a week passed by and still no plant nor credit card refund. I called back about six times trying to get a resolve , still nothing had happened finally given Mike's number to advise him of the issue. So today May 27,2023 still without plant nor refund. I will not do business with this company in the future .Such a dishonest company !!! Someone should be accountable for this type of dishonest tracts action with the public. I hope this post will help the next person from experiencing such terrible treatment. Just don't keep lying about the issue and do the right thing!!! read more

Though I don't often write customer reviews, I feel I'm obligated by my poor experience with JMG Ventures LLC (Michaels Nursery) to share a fair warning with future potential customers of this 'business' from becoming victims themselves. We ordered 8 shrubs as listed on their website as being from 2'-3' tall... we paid twice as much for this size shrub ($30) than the 1' shrubs he also had available (for $20.) When the trees arrived (a few days later than originally stated none-the-less) they were only 1' tall. Having our garden project as far along as was possible prior to the arrival of our order, and because the shrubs had just endured a long delivery journey, we decided to proceed with their planting and reach out to the 'business' to find out where things went wrong. We placed a few phone calls to Michael's Nursery, left messages with voicemail, as well as a woman who answered one time... nobody from Michael's Nursery ever returned our cal. So we sent an e-mail asking for an explanation and a possible refund resolution to account for the price difference of 1' shrubs as delivered, rather than the 2'-3' we had actually paid for. An e-mail reply finally appeared claiming that the shrubs shipped were 2'-3' but were 'trimmed' down to 1' for shipping and no refund would be offered. We were also told they would "...grow back quickly." Having already planted the shrubs, thinking it unreasonable to pay to ship them back, and accepting that it will just have to take that much longer for the shrubs to reach our final goal, we decided to e-mail one final request for refund and make a few suggestions. We suggested they change their website to reflect the 'trimming prior to shipment' to make it clear to customers and asked again for an appropriate refund. Days went by without any reply and another voicemail was left requesting reply. Without any other options, we decided it was time to begin mitigation via PayPal. Just prior to filing our dispute with PayPal, we looked at the Michael's Nursery website to see if they had made any changes in their product description; they had not. So we submitted our objections to PayPal... now is when we finally got the 'business' attention. Within 8 minutes they replied to our dispute on PayPal, but not before they modified their website to include my recommendations. This is the kind of 'business' Michaels Nursery wants to run... if potential customers want to entertain that kind of journey, then by all means they will proceed at their own risk. I wouldn't recommend this company, even to a dog. read more
