The best fish and chips I ever eaten. Regular customer, never been disappointed. I couldn't believe…read morethis place hasn't visited by any of my fellow Yelpers. This is truly been kept quite by the well heeled locals of Highgate and Dartmouth Park for too long. I would best describe this place as a posh fish shop. Forget any images of greasy, oily, bland fish and chips you may have experienced in the past. This is a whole other level. Firstly, the chips are triple cooked Maris Pipers which is (as all self respecting British connoisseur will know) the best roasting/ frying potato. The fish is locally sourced and would have been swimming around the North Sea no less than two days before. The fish is beer battered in locally brewed Camden Hells larger and it has to be one of the best pieces of batter you can get. It comes in at £11 which is slightly more than you would pay else where but the difference is roughly about £4 but well worth it. They also offer an array of other quality seafood based dishes all of which I haven't tried but on viewing look amazing. If in the N19/NW5 area or a tourist wishing to sample the national British dish at its truly best then defiantly go out of your way to visit. I've attached the menu with prices along with address so guys defiantly check it out if looking for a fish fix. I'll attach some more images when I next go in.

Nevertheless, I LOVE SEAFOOD so I am going to say, from a seafood restaurant perspective, it's definitely a Must try! It has great oysters, mussels, and their fish and chips is definitely light and crispy -heart-! Unfortunately, this place only opens on Wed thru Sunday so make sure you are there on the right days!

Myself and our family of five had the worst experience imaginable at the Beach Hut this evening. We…read moreordered three sets of the fish tacos, one small fish and chips and one order of prawn tacos. Firstly the food didn't arrive after waiting for 1 hour and 10 minutes. We the approached the staff Inside (as nobody was coming out serve us) to ask for it to be taken away instead as it was starting to be cold outside. Once we had asked for the food to be prepared in take away boxes, the owner/chef got irate and started to swear in our direction saying that it would take another 30 minutes to put the food in boxes. After waiting for the food for another 10 minutes, the food arrived, we paid and then left. No apology was made from the staff which was incredible considering the time we had waited. On getting home and opening the takeaway boxes, the tacos did not contain any avocado which was advertised on the menu. The flour tortillas were stone cold and doughy, and it contained uncooked largely chopped bell peppers. Overall it tasted like a side salad dumped in to an uncooked tortilla. I would heavily recommend against the beach hut if you're after fish and chips In the Islington area. You would be much better off heading along Upper Street and going to Kennedy's.

The Beach Hut has a lovely seaside vibe and is run by a family. We played chess while waiting for our food, which was all freshly cooked. The reason this isn't 5 stars is because our whitebait wasn't as crispy as it should be, but the fishcake was great and the portions were generous. Strong 4/5.

When in London…read more... Anytime I visit the UK, one of my must haves is good old fashioned fish and chips. While at my hotel, I searched my trusty Yelp which brought me to Hoxton Fish House. I didn't have to look at the menu at the counter - I simply said "fish and chips" please. I took a seat outside and waited for my delectables to arrive. The time seemed like plank/burpee minutes, but in reality the food came out relatively quick. When I took my first bite / it was mission accomplished. Each bite was all I wanted and more. The fish and chips were fabulous - I ended up unable to finish due to the size of the meal. The atmosphere was pretty laid back and sitting outside was somewhat relaxing. If you're anywhere in the area, I highly recommend this place!

The interior is quaint, very quiet but the staff was friendly. I ordered the tradition Fried Cod with a side of chips. Although it didn't come in a newspaper like my friend and I were told that the best fish and chips came in. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! You may be thinking...what about the tartar? Well, I'm here to tell you that you also get a side of tartar. Order two if you can, it did just the trick to pair along with the fish. The cod was fresh, as well as the chips. Highly recommend that you stop by if you find yourself in the Hoxton neighborhood.
