Even at the incision site, there is little evidence to indicate a procedure was performed at all. Beforehand, I had had a single consultation with Dr. Sasha Druskin, MD, who was as clear and concise about preparation, expectations, and post-op care as one could possibly desire. In total, combining both consult and the procedure itself, I interacted with Dr. Druskin less than 20 minutes, which is pretty incredible, considering this is still a surgery, regardless of how minor it may be. My wife, who was present during the procedure (and observed it in its entirety, which is pretty "ballsy", if you ask me!) was blown away by his precision and skill, just as I was similarly wowed at how painless the entire experience was, even after the fact. There is a "vas deferens" between expectation and reality, I can tell you! I cannot comment on billing and such at this time, being so fresh off the chopping block, although I will update this review if any problems arise. Similarly, my limited interactions with the schedulers and nurses was without complaint. But from a purely operational standpoint, I "can't conceive" of a more flawless execution than the experience I had with Dr. Druskin and NW Urology. In short, if you are considering a vasectomy, you can trust that, at least with Dr. Druskin, your family jewels are in good hands. Now turn your head and cough.

When I called NW Urology to verify my appointment, their automated voice-bot could not understand my speech, and made me repeat myself so many times that I started to cry. I couldn't tell if I had actually left a message, so I went to the clinic to find out the appointment time and date. I told the receptionist about my struggles to use their phone system. Several days later, my voice mail was returned. I expressed my frustration with their voice-bot, and also that a 15 digit password for their Portal was a struggle for me. Dr Sasha Druskin decided he did not want me as a patient. Dr Sasha Druskin does not want patients who cannot speak clear English, or patients with disabilities, or patients who struggle to remember a 15 digit password. Dr Sasha Druskin does not want patients who advocate for themselves. Dr Druskin couldn't tell me this himself; he made Brenda from Accounting call me. NW Urology is Ableist, classist, and only serves patients whose English can get past their filter of the Phone-bot. Thank you Dr. Sasha Druskin. I have dodged a bullet. I don't like Doctors who are ableist, and don't want patients to be able to communicate. I would rather have a kidney stone than have to deal with medical office that treats patients so poorly.

The Oregon Clinic Urology - Amendment Healthcare Provider Response Form - Dr. Klemann

This is a follow-up to my earlier review of Dr. Gilbert P. Klemann at The Oregon Clinic, adding…read morespecific context about my final appointment with him to remove my suprapubic catheter and what recently happened when I tried to amend his notes. I scheduled the March 11, 2026 appointment through MyChart specifically requesting removal of my suprapubic catheter. The appointment was never canceled or questioned beforehand, so I arrived in good spirits because the device I wasn't currently using and causing me great pain would soon be removed. Dr. Klemann opened by saying, "You're not going to like what I'm about to say," then repeatedly stated he would not remove the catheter and refused to discuss it. There was no prior notice of that decision. A short time later, I read in the clinical notes that he had documented in my permanent medical record that I was "visibly angry" and left "unhappy." That is his personal characterization of me. To be fair, I was very frustrated, but only because of Dr. Klemann's reductive, dismissive tone and his clear indifference for the time I spent attending an appointment he could have canceled or addressed ahead of time. Prior notification of his decision would have been far better received. Because impressions and context matter, especially in a medical record, I submitted an amendment request to add my own account of the same encounter. After reviewing my amendment, he personally denied it, citing it as "not appropriate." Apparently, his personal perception of my emotional state is perfectly acceptable for the permanent record, while mine is not. I believe it's important to place this account of my experience with Dr. Gilbert P. Klemann in the public record so future patients will have the same advance warning of his behavior that future doctors will have of mine. Communication and respect for a patient's time matter. This experience lacked both.

He explained everything very well and I went into surgery nervous but clear-eyed. Afterward Dr Jaing was very attentive and the results were much better than I expected. I had my first post-op PSA test the other day and the Dr messaged me at 9pm that evening, when he got the results, to say that my PSA was undetectable, I am cancer free. Having a cancer that is in the Gleason Grade Group 5 means that there is a higher risk of reoccurrence and we will deal with that if and when it happens, but as of now I. don't. have. cancer. This doctor office has the worst communication setup I've ever seen. This all happened because apparently I "missed" a text. Why isn't this emailed like every dentist and doctors office I've been to before??? I arrived 35 minutes early despite going to the wrong location initially as the app doesn't show you the address. You have to go to your appointment in the app, and click driving directions. No where else is the address listed for my appointment. 3:30pm is my appointment time (prefilled paperwork prior to arrival) and I arrived a little before 2:55pm. As I am escorted to my room at 3:50pm I am asked to provide a urine sample. Around 4:10pm is when I ask if they still need a urine sample, as I desperately needed to go and no one has so much as checked up on me. Four associated including the doctor saw me at the door and proceeded to continue doing what they were doing. Finally, getting someone's attention, the nurse tells me to go into the restroom and just grab a vial and put my name on it. The only "pen" is a permemant marker and I'm supposed to label it with that. Fast forward another 20 minutes and I'm all of the sudden getting an ultrasound of my bladder. Mind you, none of this was communicated prior. It's just like, hey, ready for this next? I would literally avoid coming here at any cost if it hadn't already taken me months to see a primary care physician, get a referral, "miss" an appointment booked incorrectly, and then come to the rescheduled appointment. I canceled because after the anal probe by the doctor, didn't feel comfortable he'd do the procedure without risking my health. (Not kind, as someone who's had three procedures)

Everyone worked quickly to get me into the ICU, some more testing and medicines, seen by qualified doctors, and taken to the 'Cath Lab' for surgical stent. The doctors and staff were always explaining and making sure I understood. Nurses, I cant say enough good things. Always identified themselves, their shift, if they were going on break, who was coming in, gentle nudges to wake me up for the frequent blood pressure checks and monitoring, even laughed at my feeble jokes sometimes. Tara & Heather in the ICU, Julia on the 'regular' unit were stellar names I remembered, there were others. My PA David too on my last day. Food - dang, it was really good (for hospital food that is), you even get a menu to order from, and prices are super reasonable and I was able to get my several visitors a lunch or dinner too. If there was a complaint it might be that its so darn big, easy to get lost and signage (according to my visitors) was horrible.

People's opinions tend to vary greatly depending on why they showed up at OHSU, what they were…read moretreated for and who treated them. In my case, I was there due to a community referral done by the VA to have an MRI done. The reason being that OHSU has the best and most advanced MRI setup in the area. So on that basis, OHSU gets five stars. The MRI operator was great. I was in a fair amount of pain and discomfort and he did everything possible to make me as comfortable as possible. The OHSU MRI machine was totally booked for well over a month but since my situation was urgent they made an appointment for me to come by at 05:00 to have it done. So someone didn't get a full night's sleep. I was not expecting such tight security when I showed up. The entrance was tighter than a TSA checkpoint at PDX. Being up on the hill and not in the city you wouldn't expect to see sketchy people roaming around but in this day and age I guess having a lot of security around is comforting. As noted above, your experience with OHSU might well be very different than mine. But understand that OHSU is a learning hospital and as such provides a wide array of medical services often using the latest and greatest equipment and technologies. The VA gets a lot of their medical staff from OHSU and the VA (at least in Portland) is an amazing facility. Great people at both.

But this morning-I go to the lab in Tigard for some blood work for a doctor appt at the Beaverton location later in the week. I go at lunch and get checked right in. Then a few min later, I am called up and told the lab tech is taking a break after the next person so I have to come back in 40 min or come back another time. UH, should they not take care of the patients that are waiting, THEN take a break. I left thinking I would come back after work or just go to the Beaverton lab after my appointment. After doing some grocery shopping nearby. I decide to go back and see if I would be the first person the tech sees at 12:45. If not, then I would go back to work. I go in and am told I would be the first person she would see when she returns from break. So I sit and sit and sit. 15 min go by and no sign of this tech. The receptionist tells me she is checking out my chart and will be calling me in momentarily. Then I sit and watch as FIVE other people are called in--all ahead of me. The receptionist tells me I am the next one. yeah right. The tech comes out and calls yet another person that is not me. I was fed up and start leaving as the tech looks at me and asks my name and says I am the next one in line-which I am thinking is not true. There were still 4 more people sitting around and they probably were not for urgent care. By now it was the principal of the thing--they lied to me and wasted so much of my time. They wasted my entire lunch hour plus another 20 min. Be honest and just say--there are a good 10 people ahead of you when they return from break. I will never go to the Tigard lab ever again. I will only go to the Beaverton one.
