I am a former hospital administrator, so I have a tendency to scrutinize medical offices, medical providers and medical procedures. So when I say I have nothing but compliments about Dr. Todd's practice, it means something. The ladies at the front desk are pleasant and helpful. And all of the nurses and assistants with whom I interacted were kind and efficient. To date, I have had two separate procedures to remove squamous cell lesions. In both cases, the biopsies and the procedures were done by Lindsay Smith, FNP-BC. Lindsay is that rare combination of caring and competent. She took her time in speaking with me, asked pertinent questions, fully explained the procedures and did so with confidence and kindness. Nobody wants to have skin cancer, go through biopsies and procedures, it's just not fun. However, if you find yourself in need of this type of care, you could not be in better hands. I discovered this practice via Internet following an unpleasant experience with a dermatologist in my town. I am SO happy I did. It is an hour's drive, but well worth it. I have made about 12 visits so far. I've never had to wait. The offices are immaculate. I underwent surgery for basal cell last year -- went great. I just had Mohs in February. I was very leery of the procedure and the result since it was on my nose. Three months out, if you didn't know me before, you probably couldn't tell anything had been done. Dr. Todd is a consummate professional and very personable. He immediately puts you and your family at ease about the procedure. His staff is amazing, as well. I just can't say enough... I have recommended several of my friends, as well. If you have skin cancer and live in the northern VA area, you should give him a try. You won't regret it. You'll be well taken care of!! read more

Just okay. Nothing bad, just not a great experience. Lots a potential to be a great experience. Dr. Todd is all business and doesn't get personal. He doesn't explain the condition to you or tell you your options. You have to do your own research. The good news is there's no waiting for an appointment because he doesn't appear to have a lot of clients. The bottom line is that he'll do a good job, but you won't remember him. Definitely not the 5 stars that others are giving him. He's not a rock star doctor, but I think he's totally competent. He needs to slow down and get to know his patients and make them feel more comfortable. He certainly can be better if he appears that he cares more. read more

I was nervous. It was the first procedure of the sort I ever had. Michael Fraykor, and his assistant Maria, put me totally at ease. The stereo was playing music of my choice, and Michael and Maria, kept up funny chatter the whole time to take my mind off of the procedure. Michael drew me pictures of what he would be doing and Maria provided explicit post surgical instructions by taking pictures and showing me how to bandage the wound since it was on my back. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience . . . if one needs surgery, that is. I highly recommend this office for your skin cancer needs. read more

Took my dad to Dr. Todd's office today for removal of Basal Cell Carcinoma on his face. The entire staff was EXCELLENT. We were treated with friendly smiles and Dr. Todd's assistant, Yi, was out of this world (we wanted to take her home with us!). Between Yi's thorough instructions and attentive care and Dr. Todd's expertise and warm bedside manner we left feeling like it was actually a pleasant experience. They really go out of their way to make you and your loved ones feel comfortable. If i needed this surgery I would actually drive the two hours from my home to go to Dr. Todd. read more

This medical office experience was like going to a luxury spa. Not only from the beautiful décor but also including the exceptional care from the entire staff. The nurse was warm and efficient. She explained the entire process to me before meeting with the doctors. The doctors were extremely professional but remarkably personable. The expectation for a surgical procedure was to be uneasy and uncomfortable, instead I was completely surprised to find the entire experience to be relaxing and accommodating. This is a very well managed practice. My MOHS surgery was on 3/8/18. The staff was very professional at every step of the process: scheduling, pre-appointment consultation with the nurse, reception, pre-op, surgery, stitching, bandaging, and follow-up phone call. The office seems to have a great culture: they are extremely pleasant and helpful, enjoy their work, and genuinely care about their patients. Dr. Todd performed a procedure on my very elderly, and quite nervous, mother this past week. Everything went beautifully from start to finish, and the experience far, far exceeded my expectations (and my Mom's, too!). Dr. Todd and his staff are so pleasant and courteous to deal with. The appointment was for my elderly wheelchair bound mom, and I found the staff, nurses, and doctor to be very kind, accomodating, and thoughtful. They wanted her to feel as comfortable as possible through the entire process. They talked to her and not just me. Her care for the proceedure and for afterwards was carefully explained.
