My dentist was an Air Force Colonel who recently retired. My wife said we need to pick a new dentist. I'll be polite, his replacement is a doowacker. My wife looks at our new plan and chooses a dentist in Middle Island?! While I'm getting coffee across from the campus, I see a new dentist office that opened? Bless my stars! I walk in and speak to the office manager. I tell her I have great dental plan, can I come to the Koeppel Dental Group? Middle Island is so far for me to drive and, wait a second! Is that fresh baked cookies I smell? The office manager is looking at my insurance and explains that the Koeppel Dental Group is a private dentist practice. If you need oral surgery or a crown replaced, the Koeppel Dental Group is ready to assist. But, I can make sure that we will clean your teeth and use my insurance. How awesome is that? Here's the dad review. Just say you live 100+ miles away from Stony Brook and your child is going to the college. If they need any type of dental work, I highly recommend the Koeppel Dental Group. He is kind and patient. He explains each procedure and is comforting and reassuring. His staff is pleasant and welcoming. There is no fear when entering the office as the entire staff is professional and competent. I can't say I look forward to going to this office, but there is no fear nor anxiety!

I finally got infected and she wanted it pulled, on the phone we asked if they pull teeth and they said they do. $225 later we were recommend to a specialist that wanted to save it for $1900 + , we are not doing that for a tooth in the back of her mouth that could end up giving her trouble down the road so we went back to e.s.i. and they wouldn't pull it . So here was someone in pain and we got a run around ended up a a oral surgeon that pulled it for $425. So when they say they do everything they don't were never going back I do not recommend this dentistry.

I was desperate and looked up "emergency dental" and found Stony Brook Family Dentistry. They were a pleasure to deal with, and hit me in the next day. Dr. Baum and his staff couldn't have been nicer, and presented me with several options to my dental issue. I chose extraction. Now let me tell you, I've only had 1 extraction in my life, and it was not a pleasant experience, but I'm telling you, as god is my witness, Dr. Baum had that extraction done before I even knew what happened! I was literally shocked at how quickly, smoothly, and painlessly it all happened. He talked me through everything he was doing, and I appreciated that.
