He was upfront that he'd measured my wrist at home and was worried about sizing. The associate, Adrianna, assured him repeatedly it could be sent away for a "clasp extension" after purchase. He asked more than once because he did not want to gift something that couldn't be fixed. She promised him it would be fine. The morning after our anniversary, four different staff members told us tennis bracelets cannot be sized or extended, full stop. When I called the manager to ask about it, she claimed she'd "promised nothing." Two weeks later, after shipping it away anyway, they confirmed exactly what the four staff had said: nothing could be done. We came back for a refund and were met with confusion, as if returning it was the surprising part. One associate did apologize sincerely, which I appreciated, but the damage was done. A special moment was turned into a stressful mess because someone wanted to close a sale. I ended up spending twice as much at another jeweller and have zero loyalty left to Peoples.

I had used other jewelers for repairs in the past and was never pleased with the result. I have also had a much more pleasant experience dealing with the People's staff when looking for a present compared to other vendors. When I described what I was looking for they immediately helped me find something very close to what I had in mind but were not pushy and didn't try to force me to get items I didn't like. The full story: When my grandmother passed away, her children and grandchildren came together to lay her to rest, and help sort the many things she collected through life. We each chose a couple items to keep for ourselves to help carry her memory, and one of my items was a rather sweet yet broken watch that no one else wanted. I took this watch to be fixed at this shop, and was so impressed with the result. Not only did they fix the face plate, clean up the watch, and get her ticking again, they also gave me some great maintenance tips to keep it running. The best part was that when we discovered the value of the watch, the staff didn't try to upsell me on anything, nor overcharge me, nor try to convince me to sell it to them for a deal. Turns out it's an antique gold Rolex; the staff knew it's sentimentality and did all they could to make it like new for the same quoted price they gave me when I turned it in. So impressed!

The problem is he knows exactly what she will like. After visiting some places in Canada, online and in Barcelona and France where he was, he decided he will give her a custom ring. It was an other level, I went to all stores, sometimes it was the price sometimes it was something else. I went to the internet and found the name of David Congers. I called him, a very calm, confident voice. I felt that he really wanted to help me and knew what he was talking about. The problem is that during the pandemic, he closed his store and was working from home. The first time I went to his house, he was scared of me and I was scared of him. Showing diamond in a garage was not to reassure me. My phone died and I asked him if I could charge it inside his house, I could feel that he was not confortable to let me in. To make a story short, I showed him a model. He showed me a diamond that my son was thrilled about. We discussed prices and settled. When the time comes to deliver we went to a mall. Again, we were both scared of each other. I had to make sure that the number on the diamond was right and he did not want to give me the diamond until he received the money on his account. Besides that lack of confidence on both sides, it was a great experience. The ring was wonderful, both my son and my future daughter in law are so happy about it. The size, everything was exactly they way the wanted. I really recommend David Congers for his patient. He is working from home but he is honest and direct. Thanks again David.
