My wife and I have worked with several real estate agents over the years, from those recommended by…read morea friend, to those suggested by a relocation company, to those we just saw a bus stop ad for. This time around, we wanted to give it some serious thought and find the best agent for us (not what someone else suggested). So we met with Rey a few times and he gave us the confidence that he would be a great buyer's agent for us in Westminster. He was never pushy, never requiring us to sign exclusive paperwork, and gave us time to make our own decision. Little did he know...our buying process would last 9 months! I'll back up first, and say our process started while we lived in Kentucky, and decided to come back to Colorado. First, my wife came out and did a marathon weekend of house hunting. Rey volunteered showing and developed lists of potential properties using our criteria. During this time in Denver, it ended up being a tough time to be a buyer, and the resale properties we looked at never quite did it for us. We then decided to built a house using a builder I'll call Substandard Atlantic in Broomfield. The process was fraught with construction problems, all due to the builder and terrible subcontractors. Rey was cool and helpful throughout this, while my wife and I quietly (and sometimes very vocally) lost our minds. Eventually, with Rey's help, we were able to get out of what had become a very negative buying situation. Here's where I get to the best part of Rey's attitude and style: he'll never give up, no matter how much you or the other parties involved throw at him. We decided to go forward with a second builder, and Rey started over, tirelessly worked through another round of problems always finding a solution. Looking back on the process, there were so many things that Rey personally guaranteed or took care of, to keep the stress off of us and to keep the transaction moving forward. There were times when we wanted to give up, and there were times when we wanted to go postal. But Rey was always there to get thing back on track, and reassure us of the road to come. We finally moved into our house (which is perfect), and I owe Rey for all his hard work. Even after the sale, he was active in our negotiations with the builder, and he is as invested as any real estate agent I've ever met.
