He was recommended by our family physician, who is more like a buddy with our association through all these years, and so getting an appointment was a breeze. Am not sure, but I believe, getting the appointment is not so difficult even if you go directly. Dr. Shafiq is funny, keeps the mood light but when he is at his job, he is completely focussed, explains every detail of what is happening, what options of medication is available, what he would suggest and why. I was asked to purchase overpriced items from his practice, one compression sock $30. Go on Amazon and buy a pair for less than $20.00. Also overpriced insoles which I could have purchased for about $10 at Walmart. During each visit, I paid my co-pay, and I paid for all the extras that the doctor requires not covered by insurance. Now I'm receiving a bill for a co-pay which I've called the office four times to explain why this co-pay is due. I'm receiving a bill four months after I was released from care and I have not received a call back to explain this. I will not be sent to collections for a $37 balance which I know I do not owe. I have contacted the office three times in regards to this matter by telephone and I have texted the office one time.
