My husband and I have been having major marital problems for the last 5 yrs. I have been to 3…read morepsychologists because my husband thought I had personality problems. One of them fell asleep while I was talking to him. Dick, my husband, left the office of the second 1 when she began questioning him. The reason we were there was because he was very upset about me spending too much time with my dad who was in assisted living at Menno Haven because of Vascular Dementia. I did not give in to him because my adoptive dad was my hero. I won't elaborate the details, but he lived to be 93 and the Presbyterian Church of Falling Spring was packed. Quite a testimony for his life-if you knew him, you were touched by him. He was a Saint in my eyes. I am a fairly quiet and reserved person with an A-type personality. I also was the only sibling who lived locally after finishing and receiving my diploma in education from Shippensburg University. I loved that man as anyone who was close to him did. He was a kids'dad. I can honestly say I loved my dad and respected my mom. I was blessed to be the sibling there when he died. I do not know if he knew who was there, but he said, clear as a bell, "I have to go visit your mother because she needs me right now." Dick and I saw 2 counselors through the past 3 years together. He did not hear or get what they advised. Art Caron saw us individually and advised us to work through separate counselors. Which we have been doing. Before my last appointment, I made a final decision. I cannot live with him anymore. I saw Art on January 15th and told him about the split. I would like to be friends with Dick and do things with him, but I am a broken person. His idea was, if we separated, he wanted a divorce. That threat has now been rescinded. We had a zoom meeting with my son and Dick's daughter. The 2 kids, both in their late 50's. have talked to each other and I think that caused Dick to rescind his threat. Both families have a close relationship-best friends, vacationed together and developed quite a bond. Dick and I were each other's sounding board and began walking about 5 miles together almost every night for more than a year. If either of our spouses would have walked with us I truly believe our relationship would not have blossomed onto true love. I am very satisfied with the counseling I am receiving from Art. I did have 1 comment, Constructive Criticism, that I shared with him. I also see Dr. M. every 3 months. I have an appointment on February 13th. I called the office to see if I could get in earlier with Dr M. The office had a cancellation the day after I I saw Art, but I had a previous engagement. They checked the schedule, but it was full until my February appt. The care has been excellent, I gave 1 constructive comment to Art, and one of the staff members, who had a new staff person, beside her recognized me and took over the registering information. My experience in the Chambersburg office has been top notch!
