He is open to discussing my ideas for treatment, but will tell me in a respectful way when he doesn't believe something is in my best interest, like a wise owl guarding over my health and well-being, looking out for the long term risk/benefit to any approach. He also really cares about me as an individual, and works hard to help me towards my goals. Adam was my doctor in my high school years, and when I moved back to the area, I knew who to go to when I was having some health issues. A real family doctor, he identified my dad's cancer, and supported him through the acute years of chemo after setting him up with a great oncologist. My dad is stable and healthy a decade later. He also treated my grandma (nonny) and came to the bedside of her hospice room during those last days of her long life, sharing stories, laughing with us. He's made a big positive impact on my family.

I had never met him before and I was there to ask for a referral to an ENT doctor. Dr. Andrews was thorough, thoughtful and answered my questions. He went above and beyond when i explained my situation. If there's such a thing as 10 stars, this doc deserves every one of them. I was so impressed that I asked if i could become his patient. Sadly, he is not accepting patients but assured me I would like my new primary care doctor as he was his doctor too. Thank you Dr. Andrews- I am still grateful for your care of someone you had never met before. Nagle could not offer me any suggestions, referrals personal experience or insight that helped my situation. It was clear he doesn't have any real experience working with addicts. I left this visit feeling hopeless and Dr.Nagel went out of his way to make me feel as if I was guilty of something and made me even question my self worth for a moment. My first visit with him was very different but he said something I will never forget. I was shocked anyone working in Health or Human services would say. I apologized to Dr. Nagle for being a few minutes late. He told me not to worry, he was glad I was not one of "them". When I asked him what them meant he said "You know, hospitalized, out of jail" He went on to say that he was "Paid the same" for the easy ones like me. As a probation officer and counselor in this town for nearly 20 years I will air my medical history to all to save someone from an interaction like I had with this guy. Dr.Nagel is going to hurt someone that needs help and doesn't have the resources I have. Doctor here's my suggestion: Stop the front bro. Your going to hurt someone buddy. Dr.Nagel will also tell you you need to be seen monthly for suboxen. That also is not true. You need to be seen Quarterly. He's doing this addiction doctor thing to fill his schedule and monthly visits are more money. If you're considering this treatment you need to see a real addiction specialist. I left my visit with Dr. Nagel questioning my self-worth. I have never felt so hopeless in my life. Fortunately I was seen later the same day by what was clearly a doctor with experience working with our population. And the next doctor I saw looked at the same report , and had a very different idea of how to treat me. First of all like a human. The alternative is around the corner and in fact on the corner doctor. Don't turn people away, I was willing to be honest.
