I came to Dr. Nagle seeking help. I had bounced between four doctors in the last four months after Being treated by the same doctor for four years. Nagle could not offer me any suggestions,referrals personal experience or insight that helped my situation. It was clear he doesn't have any real experience working with addicts. I left this visit feeling hopeless and Dr.Nagel went out of his way to make me feel as if I was guilty of something and made me even question my self worth for a moment. My first visit with him was very different but he said something I will never forget. I was shocked anyone working in Health or Human services would say. I apologized to Dr. Nagle for being a few minutes late. He told me not to worry, he was glad I was not one of "them". When I asked him what them meant he said "You know, hospitalized, out of jail" He went on to say that he was "Paid the same" for the easy ones like me. As a probation officer and counselor in this town for nearly 20 years I will air my medical history to all to save someone from an interaction like I had with this guy. Dr.Nagel is going to hurt someone that needs help and doesn't have the resources I have. Doctor here's my suggestion: Stop the front bro. Your going to hurt someone buddy. Dr.Nagel will also tell you you need to be seen monthly for suboxen. That also is not true. You need to be seen Quarterly. He's doing this addiction doctor thing to fill his schedule and monthly visits are more money. If you're considering this treatment you need to see a real addiction specialist. I left my visit with Dr. Nagel questioning my self-worth. I have never felt so hopeless in my life. Fortunately I was seen later the same day by what was clearly a doctor with experience working with our population. And the next doctor I saw looked at the same report , and had a very different idea of how to treat me. First of all like a human. Dr Nagle seems to be a good guy. I saw him for one visit. The staff is a catastrophe. Are they underpaid? Do they all keep separate notes on so you have to start from scratch every time you talk with one of them? Is that why they never follow up on anything? "Yes they'll confirm that by calling you" seems to be their way of saying: "not my job." I'm still waiting for that call back btw. read more

Dr. Nagle and his team have been wonderful in taking care of my healthcare. From the initial appointment there was never anything rushed and he took over and above the amount of time to make sure he explained all and I understood. He was extremely thorough in all the preventative tests ordered and any follow up necessary. This provider will no longer be accepting my insurance as of next month and I've very sorry to lose him as my primary care physician. This review is for the front office staff at his office and not of Dr. Nagle. I love Dr. Nagel but unfortunately his administrative staff is severely lacking. I have to hold for long periods of time whenever I call. If I need any follow up or labs things always seem to be incorrect or fall through cracks all together. This most recent incident involved labs being called into the wrong lab and missing two of the tests Dr. Nagel indicated he wanted done. I have called 5 times over the past two weeks to get it resolved only to walk into the lab this morning and discover that the paperwork was wrong once again. I've called twice today and was on hold for 20 min the first time and 15 min and counting this time around.... I sincerely hope they can improve the way they do business so I do not have to find a new doctor. read more

I had been cing Dr. Nagle for many years and finally choose about a year ago or so, I decided to see another doc that treats addiction. Dr. Nagle was never forthcoming about taking suboxone. He had told me at the time that we addicts needed to b seen every month for a suboxone renewal. Not true, especially now. Suboxone is now recognized as a great drug for opiate addiction. Sorry to say he had lied to me on several occasions. Finally I had the courage to leave and find an honest doc. If u r looking for a doc to help u or loved family dr nagle is not your guy, as a side note he had asked me to write a positive review due to getting negative feedback from his employer Dominican Hospital. I am 67 years ago and a addict all my life Dr Nagel had embarrassed many times in front of staff , he took a course in addiction and considered himself an addiction doctor Truely he is not. As someone with congenital health problems, I am very familiar with the medical business and the vast span of quality in doctors. Ailment notwithstanding, I became a patient of Dr. Nagle's a few month's ago. I've always found him to be compassionate, easy to work with, and most of all, HELPFUL! He always spends plenty of time with me during my office visits, and listens keenly to my insight on my problem. I brought the lady that I take care of to Dignity for an appointment with Dr. Jackson Nagle. Her doctor had retired and I was looking for a new doctor to help with the medications that she takes. She has physical and mental disabilities. The lady has lived with my family for twenty years. I asked the receptionist as well as the doctor's assistant if I could confer with with Dr. Nagle for five minutes before the appointment. When Dr. Nagle came into the room, he was pleasant and shook our hand. I asked him if I could speak privately for five minutes before any examination. He asked me if I had "forms". I did not know what he wanted. I asked him if he meant legal documents. I told him that I was the legal guardian of the woman and of course I had court documents at home. He then insulted us by saying,"Are you saying that she is incompetent to answer questions herself". He had no tact in front of his new patient and treated me as if I was a criminal. I picked up our belongings and left the premises. I will never set my foot in Dignity again and I will file a formal complaint against this doctor if Dominican will return my call. I am waiting to see if Dignity has the nerve to bill medicare for an appointment that never occurred because i walked out when the doctor insulted us. I gave the lowest rating available. read more

It's so hard to get to the doctor. I really struggle with making the time. Canceling work, driving through Santa Cruz traffic, family, kids. But today I overcame all that because I was really sick and needed to see someone. I waited for this particular apt and despite life getting in the way I still made it to the office. I cancelled my afternoon, drove from Scotts Valley, and actually made it for a 12:30 at 12:35, just to be turned away because Dr. Nagle was running late. It didn't matter that I stood in line, or that I've waiting in that same office for over an hour to be seen without complaining multiple times. I respectfully pleaded to please go ask the doctor again or to let me see a PA, but Starla came out and would not hear anything I had to say. Why I was there, why it was important, how I was really worried, that I had been told I needed to see my doctor. Nothing. Just that urgent care is down the road and there is nothing else that can be done. And then stated policy about timing even though I was in line well before the cutoff. She let me know that the doctor was way behind which made me think that if they had just let me sit down and wait, I would have been waiting for a long time anyway, but instead they decided to use me to catch up on the schedule. I didn't feel human. I didn't feel empathy for what I was communicating was going on with me. I didn't feel heard. It was the most upsetting medical experience I've ever had and I'm now over this whole office. Come to think of it the front receptionist who first turned me away said it was because the dr. was on time today, and then then Starla came out and said dr. could see me because they were so behind today. Regardless being lied too. I have been coming here for years and I've put up with the long waits, the 30 minute phone hold times... I simply requested medical transfer docs and am going to find someone over at PAMF who actually cares about their patients. read more

I'm aware of the negative reviews here and an surprised. My interactions with Dr. Nagle have been wholly positive. I stumbled into making an appointment with Dr. Nagle as I didn't have a primary doctor and needed a referral. And I'm very glad I did. My first appointment involved a long wait which made me question being there. Later I realized, when the doctor is behind schedule, it's because he giving time to patients who need it. I found him smart, capable and empathetic. He directed me to take tests I otherwise would have resisted and thereby I found an issue, a serious issue, that needed serious attention. I have been a patient of Dr Nagle ' s for a long time I really like him. I have received great care from him. I do find the front desk very helpful, when I have had to get a message to the Dr. They are very prompt. He has had several assistants and they all have been good to me. He's a solid doctor. Has a mastery with medicine, medical conditions, and treatments. He knows his stuff. During a consultation, he spends time educating me if I have an issue, and he's real about what treatments are available, and their pro's/cons. Basically, he does his job, and you'll get "A" level healthcare services and information from him. read more

It is unfortunate that I have to give this office even one star. Despite having wasted a month of repeated calling and visiting the office, they still have not written a simple note to the pharmacy so that I could pick up my medication. I have an infection that has been getting progressively worse for a month... I would only recommend Dr. Nagle to a person who does not need a doctor read more

Jackson doesn't follow up with patients and seems aloof. Having grown up around physicians, I can say that such behavior is not uncommon, but that fact does not excuse Dr. Nagle. If you want a doctor who returns phone calls and treats you as an equal, I recommend that you look elsewhere. read more

Dr Nagle has been our family Dr for a couple of years now and we couldn't be happier with his advice! This will be my last review of this office. Again, I have no problem with the doctors our grandkids have seen. They have always seemed knowledgeable and caring. My review is again/still with the front office staff. I called and made an appointment this morning (1/21) at 10/10:20 for my grandson, as he woke up with a tick on his upper back. Yes, both of the grandkids that live with us are on Medi-cal. This particular issue occurs about every other visit. Grandson has been going to this office for 3+ years now. The last time he was seen was in December 2015 (last month) for a severe ear infection after a cold. While we were in seeing the doctor THEN, the front office staff had problems regarding his insurance, the issue being he was listed under another county. While we were there, they said they reportedly "fixed it," no problem. We went on our way. Today they started in on the same problem saying they could NOT treat him because he was listed in another county. Same problem that they supposedly "fixed" last time. Not sure what the "fix" was, but it apparently didn't take. I went around and around with them. It didn't matter that he was a patient of long-standing, didn't matter that his insurance hadn't changed, nothing mattered except they wouldn't treat him. I'm afraid I lost it on the manager they brought out to the front desk. She kept saying "I understand" to everything I said. Well, I told her she did NOT understand. She hasn't had to go thru all the idiocy visit after visit, that we have gone thru. I never see the same person twice working at the front desk, I think that says it all. The mother of our grandkids even called the medi-cal to check on their coverage today. The advocate herself said that the front office people were idiots. She said they are just too lazy to follow thru with the one piece of paper they need to do. Whether or not the office did the paperwork, we still are subjected to this craziness every time we go in there. I made an online appointment for the ER at Dominican Hospital, then left Dignity Health office. We got to Dominican and guess what, he was in the system no problem. We were in and out of there by 11:30. It's obvious that there are many positive reviews of the doctors at Dignity Health on this site. The doctors are great. BUT we have had appointments made then told we have no appointment when we get there, we have gotten phone calls that we missed an appointment, when we didn't have one in the first place. This continuing insurance fiasco was the last straw. Sorry. We are changing to a different office. read more

Dr. Nagle definitely mis-diagnosed, and mis-treated me. I found it very disappointing that Dr. Nagle became very difficult to contact after the mis-diagnosis, rather than addressing his mistakes in a timely way, he became evasive. I asked several times for months requesting he respond to a few obvious mis-diagnosis, ( there was more than one, plus mis-prescribing medicine that harmed me). Also noteworthy when choosing a clinic: The receptionists at Westside Clinic almost always put you on hold immediately when they answer, sometimes for over 5 minutes, I've had to hang up on indefinite hold there, feeling on forgotten hold. I'd recommend someone other than Dr. Nagle and Westside Clinic, and personally, I've switched to a much better doctor, with a much better front desk that has better phone manners too. read more
