We have lived in Prescott for nearly seven years after relocating from California. I remained with…read moremy longtime CPA until he retired at the end of 2022, after which I began the challenging process of finding a new CPA locally. Many firms were not accepting new clients. I received one referral and worked with that firm in 2023, but the relationship was strained and ultimately not the right fit for us. I continued searching, and after referrals from friends led nowhere, a Google search brought me to Jim. He had just reopened his practice, so there were only a few Google reviews at the time--but they were all five stars. I then researched Jim's CPA background in California, where his reviews were also consistently excellent. After our first conversation, I felt immediately at ease. Jim explained that he had moved to Prescott to retire, but after finding retirement a bit too quiet, he decided to reopen his practice. Fortunately for us, we found him before he stopped taking new clients again. Our first two tax years working with Jim were straightforward, but the coming year will be far more complex. A home we originally intended to live in is now a rental, and the stress of understanding how to properly structure and manage that situation was significant. Jim carefully walked us through multiple options, patiently explained the implications of each, and helped us choose the best path forward. Jim's background is exceptionally comprehensive, and his knowledge and guidance have been instrumental to our long-term tax planning and overall peace of mind. Just as important, he brings a personal element to the relationship that our prior CPA lacked. He combines professionalism with genuine care, which makes working with him both comfortable and reassuring. We feel very fortunate to have found Jim. Mimi and Scott Macey Prescott Arizona
