Michael Davitts or 'The Davitts' as it's more commonly known is not somewhere that I would go to regularly, mainly because I am not from the area and it's not handy to me. But on Sunday (JUL '16) I attended a function in the downstairs bar and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. They also have an upstairs function area available to hire.
There had been a GAA match earlier in the day so the bar was full of players enjoying a post match pint. Although it was busy it didn't feel cramped at all. There was a live band playing an acoustic set and there was sport being displayed on the multiple TV screens.
Price wise The Davitts is cheap with a pint setting you back around £3.50 depending on what you go for (Coors, Harp, Heverlee & Guinness all on tap). A full bottle of Prossecco is only £10 which is a hit with the ladies.
The staff are excellent providing ice buckets for wine and ensuring your wait at the bar is no longer than necessary.
The one thing that stood out for me was the joyous atmosphere, it was welcoming and warm! read more
