Casement Park is the principal GAA ground in N. Ireland and home to Co. Antrim footballers and hurley players. The stadium holds over 32,000 fans, though sadly this is rarely ever filled. The ground used to play host to the Ulster championship final however in recent years this has been awarded to St Tiernach's Park in Clones and Croke Park in Dublin. The GAA season runs from January to September so during the Winter months this park is deserted and not used. As with most GAA parks there is very little parking facilities so patrons should expect to park and walk for half an hour to get there. This may not seem that far but when your returning to your car in the Belfast sunshine (rain) after your team has just being throttled it's a damn long walk. In comparison to other GAA pitches this is one of the best in N. Ireland and with recently added floodlights it really looks the part. However in my opinion this ground could be put to better use such as concerts etc like Croke Park in order to get use out of it the whole year round. read more

While this is a great sporting venue for fans of the GAA, the unfortunate thing is that many of the prominent matches (like tournament quarter-finals) can see ticket prices of between £13 and £23. Even with concession prices, it can be an expensive day out for a family. Check ticket prices in advance for matches that you're interested in. read more

It's always sunny in Casement Park. Well, at least, every time I go there it seems to be. My Dad has been bringing me to Gaelic matches there ever since I was a little girl, and there is a real sense of community spirit and fun about the place. Once you go in the very horrible looking entrance (which you can forgive as football stadiums don't have to be pretty) you encounter a well-kept pitch and hoards of screaming supporters with a real festival atmosphere. You really do forget you are in the middle of the city. I've seen Antrim get trashed here loads of times (Sorry Antrim!) but no matter who you see play, it's always great entertainment and considering its all amateur, it really should be admired. Tourists should definitely come along and learn a bit about the sport and soak up the fun, friendly atmosphere. But bring a cushion to sit on, the seats are sore on your bum! read more

Casement Park is the home of the Antrim Gaelic and Hurling teams and where many of the games in the North tend to be held. Casement is really a landmark in West B'fast and one of the few things the area can really boast of; it's been there for decades. With sitting and standing room, it's a smallish sized venue but enough to cater for the Gaelic/hurling fans who visit every week. Overall, nice wee spot for local sports. read more
