Our daughter got married in Chicago and we live in Florida so it was very complicated to find somebody that we would like. We couldn't really rely on recommendations because we didn't know anybody there. Also to be perfectly honest we didn't want to spend more than $3000 on the photography. Being that the wedding was in downtown Chicago, everybody that I talk to before finding Robert was very stuck up and very very pricey. When I looked at Roberts work on his website I was absolutely amazed by the pictures that he would take. They were not traditional wedding pictures where you have everybody just lined up, they were pictures of the moments, pictures of the things that were actually happening. Just by looking at those pictures you could imagine what was going on at those weddings. His photographs tell a story and capture the most natural shots possible. For us, this was very important. Robert was very courteous and was able to cover the day without being obtrusive while at the same time being in the right place at the right time. We had many compliments about him from our guests. When I was hiring Robert I wanted to hire two photographers for my daughter's wedding every single moment would be captured. He tried to assured me that I would not need two photographers because of the size of her wedding. We had 80 people. I was still skeptical but he did say that he would have his assistant with him so I decide to go I and just hire him. Well, he was right! He was able to cover everything! Bride's preparations, groom's preparation, me being stressed out :), maid of honor helping, bride drinking a glass of champagne.... Everything that you want to remember from your wedding. All the candid shots, people dancing, drinking, eating... Everything! Most importantly my daughter is little shy and does not like taking pictures, so the way that Robert did this was just amazing. She felt so comfortable with him that I now am such a happy mom looking at her beautiful pictures. Thank you Robert for making my daughter's day so special.

We love Rob's documentary-style approach to capturing all the big and little moments. The photos from both days are so lively and dynamic and candid, with the low-light dance floor photos easily being some of our favorite. He is also easy to work with -- easygoing but super responsive, has a plan but also great on-the-fly. Putting together beautiful custom albums using the private gallery he creates for you on his website is also very user friendly and straightforward. I can't recommend Rob highly enough!

He captured the whole day in such a professional, yet artistic way. Rob is so creative, prompt, patient, friendly, and very talented. Highly recommended!

We spent quite a bit of time researching photographers online, and when we found Michael we fell in love with his style. We sent him an email to set up a consultation, and he was quick to respond. Knowing Michael only shoots a select amount of weddings a year, we were thrilled he agreed to meet with us. And once we met, we fell in love with his personality and his samples. His coffee table book-style albums are made in Italy. Ours was bound in a gorgeous black leather cover and came in an exquisite wooden box. He also has a unique digital tool that helps you create the album of your dreams together, and we received a USB flash drive in the mail with all of the images as well. Michael and his assistant Jim made us feel so comfortable on the wedding day, from the "getting ready" images to the ceremony to the reception. They also snapped images of us outside the reception venue in the snow for some incredible winter photos on what was the coldest day of the year (in December 2017). It only took a few minutes as the sun was setting, and they got what would become some of our favorite shots of the entire day. That said, being so late with this review is NOT a reflection of their services. I'm just a procrastinator. Michael also knew we wanted more candid photos, so while we still had typical posed photos there were also plenty of candid shots of our guests and us. We couldn't have asked for a better photographer! One a wonderful side note, we mentioned in passing that we wanted to hire a day-of wedding coordinator, and Michael had a fantastic recommendation for us. Michael Paul Photographers: absolutely worth the investment!

Will was great at communicating with us throughout the wedding process. He had a few meetings with us to figure out what style of pictures we were most interested in and to come up with a timeline/ locations for bridal party pictures around the city. On our wedding day, he was extremely organized and had a team of photographers organized to capture every shot we wanted. He had great ideas for pictures downtown and in Lincoln Park. The day after the wedding, he gave us about 15 amazing shots to give us a taste of what was yet to come! Will is a really great guy and was so easy to get along with. Being the bride, I figured I wanted my photographer to have a great personality since I knew I would be hanging out with him all day! Overall, we had an absolutely incredible experience and I know we will use Will in the future!

He answered every email promptly and went above and beyond, meaning he helped us with generally wedding planning that he really didn't have to do.
