My fabulous hairdresser Cory came to my backyard and colored and cut my hair safely during Covid. (And she also trimmed my husband's hair after my botched but well-intentioned Covid-forced effort.) I've been going here for almost a decade and I love this place! My previous stylist unfortunately moved, but all the MA stylists are talented. I switched to Chellia and have not looked back since. She is just the sweetest. I feel truly heard, seen, and taken cared of. We start every session by discussing what I am looking for, then she helps me evaluate what is the most realistic and healthiest option for my hair. Next, off to a relaxing hair wash. Chellia is considerate in preserving the length of my hair, which I really appreciate (I still have nightmares about losing 12 inches of hair when I asked for a 2 inch trim at another salon what seems like centuries ago). She also checks in often. The result is the exact haircut I dreamed of (with minor adjustments due to just my genetics haha). The cherry on top of an already wonderful sundae are the people. Shout out to Ayumi at Michael Anthony Salon! She always does an amazing job with my hair and she isn't afraid to give you the advice to keep your hair looking great. I come in regularly with color situations and she can always get the result I am looking for when I go back to blonde. I have never had her run late, which seems to be the norm in some salons. I started going to Michael 4 years ago. On my first day he spent so much time going through different hair Styles and colors just to make sure I like the final result. I have always been happy at the end and get so many compliments on my hair. I have dark hair and it's not easy to do natural highlights specially when I want to go a few shades lighter than my natural color. He does amazing lighter shade highlights. This is a bit overdue. I was looking for a new hair stylist when mine moved away and it took me a while to find a) a certified Redkin colorist and b) one who's aesthetic and salon vibe fit mine. I'm surprised at how difficult Redkin makes it as their website is not updated regularly. Nevertheless, through intense searching on Google, Yelp, and social media I found Ayumi at Michael Anthony's and couldn't be happier! She's the sweetest, easy to talk to, and really great at what she does. I love that she's Redkin color certified since I color my hair regularly and it shows that she's really invested in her craft. I regularly get a balayage in usually some red to ash color. Ayumi nails it everytime! The studio is also very clean, modern, and friendly. She understood all my requirements and answered all my questions in details as it was my first time getting a hair color. She suggested a custom color- Mocha with Auburn and I decided to roll with it. Totally loved the way it turned out and I am getting so many complements from friends and family. Yay!! My favorite salon ever! Michael Anthony is located in downtown Saratoga, it's super convenient and the staff is really nice. There's a lot of parking in the back but I would suggest to schedule early mornings on the weekend if possible because it tends to fill up due to all the restaurants opening for lunch. When I came in all I knew was that I wanted to donate my hair and possibly dye it but not much else. We started by cutting 13 inches off my hair. I left the rest up to her. She gave me some cute layers and a balleiage(don't know how to spell it). She spent a good amount of time both cutting, bleaching, and toning my hair. I could tell she really cared. I called to make an appointment at the salon on a whim, after my hair stylist cancelled on me last minute. The person who answered the phone took a lot of time with me to schedule me with someone who she thought would be a good fit. We scheduled for a few weeks out and I excitedly awaited my appointment. Unfortunately there was some confusion about the time of my appointment and when my stylist called to remind me and confirm my appointment, we realized we had differing times and not only was I unable to make the time that she had me down for, I was also leaving town the following Monday to give an important presentation. Meena was amazing and offered to come in super early in the morning for me. She totally came through and without making me feel guilty. She was incredibly professional, friendly, and made me feel very at ease before she colored and cut my hair. She did a fabulous job on both and needless to say, she's got a new customer in me. I came in for color and a haircut with Justine and I absolutely love how my hair turned out! Justine knew I wanted to go lighter and she showed me the colors she thought we'd be able to get to on our first visit. Justine wanted to make sure that above all else she wasn't going to over damage my hair. She took my hair health into consideration which I really appreciated as she is the expert. I've been going to this salon since I was a sophomore in high school, and I'm now a senior in college. I recently made a random appointment here not with my usual stylist, because I was only in town for a few days and so their availability was limited.
