The molcajete (traditional stone grinding bowl) $34.27 is fish, chicken, steak, chorizo, shrimp, bell peppers, green onions, cheese & tortillas. It is meant for two or more people. My attempt to do this solo failed miserably. At least they have to-go boxes. The steak and shrimps have a charred flavor. The inside, with the chicken, fish, shrimp and pork sausage had a smokey bean flavor combined with snap of green onions and bell peppers. I was surprised the heated stoneware didn't dry out the meats. It was perfect. Service was excellent for a pay at the cashier and they bring you the food type of restaurant. You have to ask at the cashier to re-fill your water. The self service salsa bar is a plus. They will give you actual silverware and plate if you ask. Minor nit. The price on the electronic wall menu was $32.95. The price on the cash register is $34.27. I paid in cash. They need to update the wall menu.

What really didn't make sense to me was the pricing. A super burrito with meat is $14.82, but a super veggie burrito is somehow more expensive at $15.55. Charging extra for a vegetarian option without any clear reason feels off and hard to justify. Overall, it's a pass for me. There are better spots nearby with more flavor and better value (La Bonita food truck by Ling Nam) Updating to one star since they forgot to give us chips that we paid nearly $4 for...

There were only a few other patrons, so grabbing a table wasn't difficult. Typical Mexican joint with brightly painted walls and Mexican decor. They have a water dispenser and an open salsa bar for your convenience. You place an order at the cashier and they will serve you the order when it's ready. Food came in about 10 minutes. *** O U R P I C K S *** QUESABIRRIA ~ you get 3 tasty quesabirrias for $18.95. You also get consumé, a side of chopped onions, cilantro, and a few slices of lime. It was good, flavorful, lots of cheese, but kinda pricey. 4/5 WET BURRITO ~ Wet burrito with both red and green sauces for $15.75. Comparable to other taquerias in SSF. But most of those places are a drive away, so that's probably why their prices are higher. And they added lettuce as a filler. And when you don't eat it right away, the lettuce is mushy and wilted. 3.5/5 It's good to try new eateries now and then. This was decent, but I think we'll stick to our usual spots that are tried and true for us.

The chicken in the taco was quite dry, but with the habanero salsa helped quite a bit. The tortillas for the tacos were really good though. The tacos are quite big but definitely would go for their carne asada instead. For the burrito, it was greasy from the grill, but overall it was fine. The carne asada had good flavor and crisp to it. Their pico de gallo is still one of the best and wish I had asked for extra inside the burrito. Not a ton of rice which was nice, good portion of meat, but for a super there was very small amount of sour cream and guac to the point it wasn't very noticeable. Overall, not a bad spot in a pinch for a quick meal. This was a popular spot for me in the late 00s and like coming back every once in a while for nostalgia.

Why 5 stars? Because despite a few non-ideal circumstances, it was very worth the visit…read more --- --- --- After eating lunch nearby, I had one final stop to make here for coffee and dessert, before I headed to SFO. The issue is that I was definitely pushing it on time if I planned on making my flight. As I was driving here, I had the thought that if there was an annoying parking situation or a line, I would just have to pivot and forego patronizing. But as it turns out, there was one spot available right next to the front door and no one inside. But then when I requested a nitro, the owner (I assume?) was extremely apologetic that their coffee machine broke. I asked for a few alternate types of coffee, but it turned out said machine controlled it all. So we shifted to the pastries. I read on the website that they had something with guava, so I asked for two of those: one for me, one for the wife. He even offered to heat mine up, which I will say yes to 100% of the time. I then jumped back in the car and was back into "don't' miss your flight mode." Of course, when you're in a hurry, you manage to hit every red light along the way, so I was doing a lot of yelling at electricity and God. But then I figured I might as well take the time to try the pastry that I'd originally planned on eating on the plane. As it turns out, it brought me into a nearly immersive experience of zen. The only bad thing is that I devoured it within seconds and then it was merely a thing of the past. My wife is fortunate that I have the amount of integrity that I do because I am sitting on the plane as I write this and I could easily inhale that 2nd pastry with her being none the wiser. If you're reading this, wife, remember that you hit the spousal lottery.
