We used this company twice in the past year & will not hesitate to recommend them and use them…read moreagain. First occasion was for a post hole digger. It worked exactly as they said it would making quick work of 12 bare root fruit tree holes (28" in diameter) and 8 post 10" in diameter. It was easy. Next venture was to rent a tractor with three point hitch to plant seedlings. The rate was reasonable allowing us from Sat afternoon to Monday am & we got 1000 seedlings planted efficiently. Training for the tractor was included! The CSRs at the counter were very helpful and didn't Chuckle at our questions. Very patient guys for sure!

I don't know if I'd consider it party supplies (whatever floats your boat, I guess), but we come…read morehere about once a year to rent their Electric Eel, which is far sturdier than the drain and sewer snakes we've rented elsewhere. The guys who work here are friendly and knowledgeable, and the rental rates are reasonable. My only criticism would be their recommendation to wear rubber-coated fabric gloves while handling the Eel; apparently it's fairly common for the coil of the snake to catch fabric gloves, and the other half almost had two of his fingers broken when it happened. Wear leather gloves for this job! They also have a white cat named Snowball who presides over the place; he's at the awkward stage of growing out his summer buzz cut (he's long-haired and doesn't like to be brushed) but he's a handsome boy just the same.

17 years of good service from A Rentals down the drain. Picked up a log splitter Saturday…read more10/7/2023. Checkout was badly impersonal, girl was more interested in relating news headlines to a friend than me. NEVER told me to bring back with full tank of gas (in all years with A Rentals I never brought back with full tank). Idiot who hooked it up started it and merely said good to go. Had I been a rookie I wouldn't have a clue how it worked. Collar was broken and he said don't worry, no problem. Took home split for a few hours. Took a break and decided to refuel. Couldn't, as a steel plate just above the gas tank couldn't be budged, no room to get even a hose in. Called, recording said closed for the day. Are you kidding, on a Saturday, closed at noon???? Got an idiot named Amber who hung up on me twice. Called third time, she said would have someone call. 2.5 hours later they did, explained it was a "convertible." Ah, got it. No one had shown me this when I rented it. So close to 2.5 hours down the drain. Took back this morning. Girl asked me if tank was full. I said no, it was never a requirement before. She said they would charge $10.00/gallon to fill it. Went to Shell across the road, filled it up. The people in the yard to unhook it were complete jerks. Wow, this place has gone BADLY downhill, will never go back. Will also type this up neatly and post on their door and hand out to people entering. This place sucks, have other sources, apparently they don't get that.

K & R Tool Shed

K & R Tool Shed

Very disappointed in K&R toolshed. I have rented 5-6 times from them over the past few years. The…read moreSaturday before Labor Day weekend 2021 I went in to rent an Aerator from them. It was towards the end of the day and the employee I was speaking with said that I would have to pay the full day rate (about $115) or I would have to have the Aerator back in 50 minutes if I wanted to pay the 3 hour rate because they were closing. I pointed out that I only needed it for about 3 hours. I also pointed out that they could look at my past rental history to verify that this is about how long I had used this piece of equipment on past rentals. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that he was the manager (big guy with a beard and glasses, I didn't catch his name.) The guy again said that I could either pay the full rate or have the Aerator back in 50 minutes (obviously wouldn't work as I live 20 minutes from this place so round trip would give me 10 minutes to use it.) I pointed out that it was too expensive and not worth it to me to pay the 1 day rate when I only needed it for 3 hours (about $56 for the 3 hour rate.) While I was in the lobby speaking with the manager a second employee came into the lobby and started interjecting into the conversation stating that I was talking in circles and that I wasn't going to get "a break" so I should either pay the day rate or leave. I was honestly shocked and was about leave after being spoken to like that and said "Wow I guess I can just go to Home Depot next time. I don't know, maybe my business doesn't matter to you guys?" (I am not a high end customer, not a professional contractor, but I have rented from them on a fairly regular basis.) Honestly the thing that bothered me the most was what I perceived to be very poor businesses sense on the managers part. Flabbergasted, I said "I don't understand, on the one hand you can either let this machine sit in your warehouse over the weekend and generate no revenue (and lose a customer) or you can rent it to me for a fair price (I agreed to pay the 4 hour rate) and be making money with it." I said "I just can't imagine a business owner would choose the first option." The manager then said that that was the direction he had been given by the owner (who he said was his father in law.) I asked him if I could speak to the owner because I just couldn't imagine a successful business owner who would see this situation and make that choice. The manager called his father in law, the owner, and put him on speaker phone. I explained to the owner the above information and to his credit he agreed to rent the Aerator for the 4 hour rate which I felt was fair enough and I agreed. Fast forward to Monday (according to my religious beliefs I try to avoid working on Sunday and didn't aerate the grass on Sunday, we also didn't want the grass to be full of mud plugs for our Labor Day barbecue.) We had a great Labor Day with friends and family and took advantage of our lawn. Then, in the evening I Aerated our lawn in both the front and backyards and then cleaned the Aerator, (made sure it was spotless.) Tuesday morning (They we're not open Sunday or Monday on Labor Day) at 9:23a I promptly returned the Aerator (Time frame to return it was before 930a Tuesday.) When I dropped it off I shook the same managers hand as he helped me unload it from my vehicle. He then said, "We discussed it, me, the other manager from the other location, and the owner (sounds like they are all family) and we are not going to rent to you again." I said, "Ok do you mind explaining why?" He said "Because you threw a baby fit and we don't want to rent to you." I said "Ok that's fine." I am very disappointed at this business and this experience has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. I will say that this is the first time that I have had issues with this place, but after this experience I would not recommend K&R toolshed to others. This is really too bad because I would have preferred to give my business to a locally owned business rather than a big box store. If you choose to come here I hope your experience is better than mine.

I rented a small Track Hoe and it worked great, the service was excellent, pricing was good as well.read more
