To be fair the first two items (washing machine and tumble dryer) we bought from this company were fine and we were happy with price and delivery, but let's be honest - when things go smoothly that is not really a test of the company's customer service is it? When we purchased our third item - a NEW and expensive American Fridge Freezer, we could not believe our our eyes!!! The delivery men brought it to our new house with no protective wrapping or transportation crate whatsoever!!! As a result - the whole of the back area of the unit was literally crushed in where the weight of it was pressing against the hand truck used to wheel it in. Putting the unit in a box or on a crate would have prevented the damage, but they didn't do that! Instead they said all of these units are very flimsy and crush in and that I shouldn't worry about as it won't effect the operation!!! UTTER CLAPTRAP- it's a brand new unit that cost many hundreds of pounds, of course it will crush in if you try to put the whole weight of the unit on 2 single points of contact!! It's not designed to be lifted in this manner without suitable protection. Both the front doors were literally crushed in where they had used the truck to get it out from display in the shop!! Why you would lean the unit on its front against the hand truck is beyond me!!! They then tried to tell me it's the manufacturing process that causes it to create a vacuum between the insulation and metal skin- I can understand this to a point but that would not cause creases the same shape as the hand truck!!! Then there were scratches and dents all over the sides of the unit!!! So our new American Fridgefreezer was ruined by the time it got to us! Needless to say we phoned to tell them of our discovery. The owner asked us to take some pictures and email them across which we did. A few minutes later we phoned back and agreed it was damaged, but tried to give the same BS excuses the delivery guys did. He then offered to knock £50 off - an insult really because there is no way anybody in the right mind would buy this unit in the condition it was in. Besides £50 off something that cost this much money was nothing!!! He then told us that he didn't have another one in stock so said he would collect it and refund the money - fair enough I thought! But he couldn't collect until the following Monday. I said that ok, but I need the refund now as we are now without a Fridgefreezer, and we need to go out and buy new one from else where. The owner then said that WAS NOT HIS PROBLEM AND THAT WE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR HIM TO PICK IT UP!! Indeed his customer service skills were appalling and boarding on aggressive!! It was only when I made it clear I was not going to stand for it and that there would be serious ramifications for his serious lack of customer service that he agreed to pick it back up that day and refund the money! Incidentally - we showed the pictures to the guys where we finally bought our new American Fridge Freezer at Direct Discounts in Oldham and they were shocked at what we told them and confirmed what we suspected to be BS!! Oh and our new unit not only arrived on a crate, with wooden side supports as well as several layers of bubble wrap!!! Guess what? - not a single mark anywhere!!! To summarise - yes this company does have some bargains and when things go well there is no problem. HOWEVER when things go wrong their customer service is absolutely shocking!! They also need to seriously look at how they transport and deliver their large goods!! All I know is I will never recommend them or purchase anything again from these cowboys!
