Quite ridiculous. No other guests, all the tables uncleaned, cold food, no bread with the meal, slow service. Would not go again.

We came here at 9:55 pm thinking that this place closed at 11 pm. But they actually closed at 10 pm…read morethat evening. The staff member was kind enough to take our orders even though we couldn't eat in-store. It took about 15 minutes to get our food. Everyone really enjoyed their food. The falafel wrap could have used more flavor though and I could barely taste the spicy sauce that I requested on it. But the ingredients were fresh. Someone else who ordered the beef wrap thought it was interesting that the beef was a patty but still liked it. The chicken wrap was tasty according to someone else. We also ordered the loaded fries, which were really good but the halloumi was kind of too stringy and weird for us to enjoy or finish.

Rather than start up with an empty stomach, I thought to get a quick bite before the meetup. Fafa's to the rescue. When I arrived, I was one of only three other people in the restaurant but they suddenly got a rush and the place almost completely filled up. Crazy, but after my meal I can understand why it's so popular. Chicken and hummus pita, with the hot chilli on it. The young lady behind the counter understood enough English for that, and that I was going to have it here. A few minutes later, my order was called out and I was able to dig in. If the intention here is to eat this as a sandwich, they're crazy. At least the first part, you'll need to fork out pieces and eat them separately or it all falls apart. Delicious fresh and crisp vegetables, hot and spicy chicken, cooling yogurt sauce. All mixed together for a great and not-too-expensive meal. Well done, Fafa's! [Review 10095 overall, 1681 of 2018.]

Im a huge fan of Pilpel, which is a Israeli falafel shop in London. So when I learned from my…read morecolleague that there's a falafel shop with a similar concept in Helsinki, I begged him to try it out right away. Fafa now has several locations in Helsinki and we went to their latest venture - the shop located near Kamppi. I was very happy to see a Sabich salad featured on the menu; Sabich means typically the addition of aubergines and boiled eggs to the pita or salad. I went for the spicy option and was positively surprised by the genuine kick that the chilli sauce added. My colleague went for the "normal" falafel pita sandwich. My salad was ok to good - flavourwise it was spot on, but I disliked the fact that they puffed up the salad with too much lettuce. Now, don't get me wrong: I ordered a salad after all and now I'm complaining about too much lettuce? - Well, as I mentioned earlier I love the Pilpel chain in London and when they do these kinds of salads, actual lettuce is only part of the equation and the rest is made up of spiced cabbage (both white and red), tomatoes, hummus, onions etc. My colleague was mightily happy with his falafel pita/sandwich and I have to say it looked quite delicious. Overall, I was quite happy with my visit here...and I will definitely return when I visit Helsinki next time. (Oh, only this time I will not sit in, as the smell of fried falafels really stays in your clothes for quite a while ;-)

Recently they opened a second place in Kallio on Vilhovuorenkatu. This one is pretty small but also offers the same amazing food. And it's as fresh as it gets since here they also bake the bread that is used in both diners. To make the waiting easier they always serve a small snack of olives and roasted bread. But keep some hunger left for the main dish. It's great! Go e.g. with the Falafel & Halloumi. Of course you can also get your pita with kebab meat.

Delicious and fresh combinations abound. I tried a kebab with chicken, tabbouleh, fried eggplant, tzatziki, tomato, and cucumber. The absence of salt in the meal, as opposed to many of the typical foods found at takeaways and restaurants in Helsinki is marked. I prefer my tzatziki with a bit more garlic, but that's just a personal preference. It was good. As delicious as the chicken kebab was, the sweet potato fries were a standout. They've perfected the cut and crispness and they are served with a side of tzatziki. The terrace outside has a good number of tables. Service was fast enough for a late lunch. The counter service speaks both Finnish and English but the menus I saw were in English. Prices are reasonable for the high quality. I highly recommend this as a light feast for your taste buds.
