Extremely unreliable and unprofessional. This happened today. I called and was told the driver would arrive in 10 minutes. I called again to confirm the ETA and was told to give the driver 2-3 more minutes. After waiting over 10 minutes, I called a third time and was told they would call the driver to check. Then I was left on hold for 8 minutes. I called back to cancel and no one answered. I had to get another cab, and only then did their driver call me 23 minutes later, which made me late for work. Damn, I'm surprised at the low stars. This morning was my 3rd time getting a taxi from them. Each time, they charged me less than what Uber and Lyft were charging (charged me $15 this morning, Lyft and Uber were charging $25-$35!). Each time, they've gotten here in under 10 minutes as well. I have to say that I truly love these guys they are so prompt. Besides a few mishaps but that always happens especially where I live but it wasn't their fault. My building is so confusing! The dispatchers are nice. And I decided to leave this review because I got so scared I lost my keys! Today is June 8, 2021. They worked through the pandemic. They help me with my bags my bags. Good evening, I am usually a very calm person until you hit a nerve. One of my children needed a cab to go to the bus station located at E152 Broadway. I called Mexicana, Yonkers NY location 226 New Main St. on Saturday and told me the price is $30. I called Sunday for the cab, and it was still $30, and the person has a disability. Why did I get a call with my child in distress. They would not let my child out the car until she gave them $50, did not help with the bags or anything. So being the person I am today, I called the dispatcher and told them what happen, and I want my $20 because the ride was $30. Explained everything to them. He could not get in contact with the driver saying he was off, that was his last ride. I told them I would call tomorrow, dispatcher response, was ok. 2 Hours later I get a call from a private number, and this guy just start running his mouth. Cursing calling names, YES from the MEXICANA taxi service, because I want my $20. I simply said in my beautiful voice Who the hell are you speaking too? If you can't speak in a proper tone or language, then do not speak. Long story short I hung up the phone. I called the cops, and got so information, and I plan on putting it into action. Waited for yet ANOTHER 15 min and called at 2:58: was asked if I "saw a black SUV" (I probably saw two dozen of black SUVs in my 45 min standing there, but none of them were the car service or bearing any insignia of the Mexicana car service, or simply making any attempt to find me). I'm not sure why this company has such low stars. I've been using them for years and have never had a problem with their service. The drivers meet me promptly and are very nice. Most don't speak fluent English but understand what you are saying. The cars are typically clean and they have good prices compared to Uber. I can call at any time and always get a cab. Took me 4 Hours to get home. 830 PM - Called for a Cab - Said it would be 10-20 minutes 8:50 PM Called back - They said 2-3 minutes 9:04 no one picked up 9:06 no one picked up 9:07 - Some one picks up, says they will check on the cab for me. Puts me on hold for 20 minutes. Then takes me off hold and hangs up 9:31 - They say that My cab was there and left, I never came out of the store. I ask when did this happen because they had me on hold for 20 minutes and no one came back to me. They put me on hold to check it out for 4 minutes, then hung up 9:41 9:43 9:45 9:48 9:49 no one picks up My Phone died at 10:08 while i was trying to get another ride home. I didnt get home until 12:30AM I will never use this service again and will be filing a complaint with the BBB. I hope everyone is licensed and insured over there. Fact 1: I have a car. But sometimes, as most people do, I need a ride from A to B - to the airport, to work if my car's in the shop, whatever. Fact 2: I hate suburban NY / NJ cab companies. I loathe them with a passion. They typify everything I hate about $#!tty customer service. Every single one I've ever dealt with is late, rude, unprofessional. They behave as though they're doing you a favor simply by existing. "Be there in five minutes" invariably means, "We'll get there when we feel like it." And they employ a mysterious sliding scale of fares that changes with each driver / dispatcher. I've just come to accept that cab companies in this part of the world simply operate at a far lower standard of service than the rest of planet Earth and can just, y'know. Get away with it. Until I met these guys. Fact 3: Méxicana is *amazing*. Always on time, always super friendly, always there for me, and never any attitude. If they say they'll be there in five minutes, they're there in three. If they can't come right away, they won't lie about it to prevent you giving your business to someone else. When you call, they don't rush you off the phone, or scream at you, or hang up on you. I love them. I never have to worry about being late for my flight, work, whatever. My go-to cab service in Yonkers. I used to use Classic Ride, but the drivers we're always late, the cars always smelled like cigarettes, and the dispatcher had one of the worst attitudes I've ever had to deal with. The drivers at Mexicana are usually on time, and if you keep them waiting they don't seem to give you an attitude about it. The cars vary greatly between drivers but they all have been very clean, even the oldest models. As with the cars, their drivers also vary, sometimes older gentlemen, young men, and in one instance I even got a lady. *And YES, they all speak and understand English perfectly.* A few problems I've had were: -They can sometimes be late -Not every driver will have GPS or know how to get to where you need to be -Prices VARY. Usually the dispatcher won't give you a quote until you ask, but even when she does, it may not be the same you're amount you're asked in the car. And it seems prices VARY between drivers. An identical trip from my house to the nearest by metro north train station can cost as low as 8 dollars for one driver, and as high as 12 dollars for the next. The same exact trip, the same exact distance, the same exact time. -lastly, they very often conveniently "don't carry change" Honesty even with this list of cons, Mexicana blows Classic Ride out of the park. Unreliable, I 've been using this company for over a year now. I called this company many times, however two times no showed for over two hours, or not at all So I called another company to pick me up. So it is all right if you are late by two hours or do not show up at all.However if I make you wait 15-20 minutes i am met with the car leaving and a busy signal at the main office if I call back.......The cab drivers also try to add a few dollars onto your ride hoping you do not dispute the service.......I am not writing this as a disgruntled person.....I have compensated the drivers very well with tips..........use another cab company if possible....Do not rely on this company, thry will leave you hanging. read more

I understand why the reviews for this cab service is mixed. The drivers are usually pretty questionable suspects here. However, the car service is definitely the cheapest in Yonkers which is why I keep calling them. They are super affordable compared to other places and although the drivers are a little sketchy they are usually on time for me at least and decently nice. Sometimes they do smell of weed, which isn't a comfortable feeling when the drivers are taking you some place. Also, sometimes the cars are nice but other times they are run down. However, it's the cheapest rates and the fact that they have always been quick that keeps me coming back. If I had to suggest any improvements it would be better quality cars and drivers. read more

I usually receive good service, but on 9/5/22 I made a reservation for picking me up from JFK at 9:30 pm. I was assigned car # 83, driver HK, Chevrolet suburban. As everybody knows, planes have delays, the airport is busy and situations happen. The driver was upset because he had been waiting for 15 minutes (he never called me despite I did send him a text message). He was extremely rude, although I apologize for the delay and inconvenience. He was so disrespectful that I asked him to drop me off in a street nearby so I can call another taxi. I am writing this bad review for drivers to understand how important customer service is, and they don't have the right to mistreat any customer. Unfortunately, is common that Latin people to mistreat Latin people. If drivers don't want to wait to pick up someone at the airport simply don't accept it, but don't come to complain to the client like I was an idiot that didn't know that there's no parking place at the airport. My friend was dropped off and the driver try to charge them more and tried to keep all the change then proceeded to text them with threats and racial slurs and told them he knows where they live and stuff. The supervisor is a joke and doesn't care about actual concerns and that his drivers are savages. This company is terrible beware of them as the drivers will actually try to fight you and lock you in the car thinking you don't want to pay them when in actuality they are trying to get more money than the actual fare is honestly. Never use Mexicana! Me called the driver 2 hours before. And a hispanic fellow (that spoke no english) picked me up two hours late! I was staying with my parents for vacation in Ludlow, and this was the most convenient service. The guy comes 2 hours late, I call the center for locations on where the driver is. And a spanish guy told me "no me importa". Seriously? English please! And why did he say "I don't care". Then the idiot arrives, and as we were going to LGA. He doesn't have EzPass on the triboro. HE DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS GOING INTO THE EZ-Pass lane! The guy had no money, so I had to pay the cash. And we rolled into the triboro with two semi-flat tires, and a driver screaming on his cellphone over the bridge. On the bright side, the fare was DIRT CHEAP.
