I would give zero stars but I cant. I receive a driver who was driving erratically almost crashing multiple times while my infant was in the car. Claimed i spilled drink and charged me extra for no reason. Upon contacting customer support i was denied any service and they gave me the run around for no reason. I noticed that the plates were not matching what was stated on the app so I asked and he said that the company mess up the plates sometimes on the app. His name probably wasn't even Paul. My 1st mistake was getting into the car seeing the plates didn't match, what was shown on the app. In going to the train station I noticed the driver taking a route that I wasn't familiar with so I said oh you can make a left here and it's a straight shot. He proceeded to say that I was a stupid lady and it didn't matter he was the driver (I take this route Monday through Friday). I was warned prior to taking this company "that their drivers are rude". The service from the taxi driver (Joseph Bartholomew #4702) was disatisfying and wreckless. On Monday August 19th, my ride from point A to point B was apparently $8 however I recalled previous rides costing less than that. That morning, I had the exact amount that is usually paid which was $6. As I gave the money, he responded in an unbelievably rude manner. Joseph said the following words: "get the f&%# out my car b%#^$". Although he was frustrated, there is a different approach when speaking to the public. He was very disrespectful. I contacted the company directly via phone and spoke with the manager who claimed that she was unfamiliar with the driver. How does a manager not know her employees? Never again. Honestly, for the name reliable they are not so reliable. Either cab drivers don't pick up the app call or the dispatcher doesn't pick up. Some of the drivers are pleasant you are better off taking their personal number. But some drivers are unprofessional and possible predators. Called this company and was downstairs within 3-5 minutes. I'm from NYC, uptown specifically, and when we call a cab and are told 3 minutes we know to be downstairs right away and they're usually there waiting. I never knew it was customary to call a taxi while standing outside in the cold but apparently that's what you need to do with this company. Adding insult to injury knowing that cabs aren't cruising the streets like they are in NYC, the dispatcher was rude, condescending and before hanging up told us to call another company. One thing that was apparent to me upon returning back to work @ the library in July, was the same friendly & safe service, but w/cleaner cars! Firstly, they are following Cuomo's mandate by wearing masks & vehicles are noticeably cleaner! Tis bad enough we must contend with & adapt to change, yet, one can have confidence in knowing their service has not faltered! Whether local or out of town: reasonable fare, courteous & professional, rides comfortably, & the few times I called the dispatcher (no response w/in a reasonable time), they would have a driver at my door within minutes! read more

In the times I've had to use this service, the dispatchers either don't answer the phone or, when they do actually answer, they're rude and are misleading in giving ETAs for their cabs. In addition, my husband and son encountered one driver who used an iPhone charging cord to keep the passenger door shut in place AND was drinking a beverage suspiciously placed in a brown paper bag! Upon arriving at the Eastchester/Dyre Avenue subway station at 12:30 am, on August 28, 2017, I phoned Reliable Taxi to order a ride to a destination in Mount Vernon.* They were recommended to me by several fellow passengers. The dispatcher told me the fare was $7, cash only, and he promptly sent me a text advising the driver would arrive within 10 minutes, the cab's make/model/color, and the driver's name. I saw the cab within 2 minutes, at which time I received another text announcing his arrival. The polite, casually but neatly dressed driver explained the cab's trunk was broken and then loaded my two suitcases in the back seat (whose passenger side door handle, I noticed, was also broken), and off we went. After a quick but safe ride to my destination, the driver unloaded my suitcases and very graciously thanked me for my (admittedly "fat") tip. My trip was fast, safe, and pleasant, and I will use Reliable Taxi again. However, I hope their other cabs are better maintained than the one they sent for me. To be safe, I recommend that parties comprising multiple passengers and luggage tell the dispatcher to send either a sedan with a working trunk or an SUV. *For safety and insurance reasons, I don't recommend ever using a gypsy cab, 'though they abound at Dyre Avenue and other MTA train and bus stops throughout NYC's five boroughs. Moreover, I distrust Uber's pricing, since they have on multiple occasions charged my credit card more than the fare quoted in their app and on other occasions didn't honor my promo coupons until my credit card company forced them to. read more

Occasionally, I need to get a cab to an airport, and, since I live in Mt. Vernon, I have used Reliable Taxi (because they're located in Mt. Vernon). I got to them just because they were local, and I figured, why not. I've used them 3 times over the past number of months. Fact is, they are very reliable. I call the night before, and, this last time, I got a call back within an hour of my making the reservation, from the driver, asking me to verify the specifics of the reservation. He told me his name, and that he'd arrive 15 minutes before the request. He arrived 15 minutes before, as promised, and was perfectly professional and efficient. It's just a taxi ride, but it was exactly what I needed, when I needed it. They live up to their name, and I no longer worry about whether or not the driver will find my house or show up on time. read more

At two separate points in time over the span of 3 months, I've called this cab service multiple times and they literally DON'T ANSWER THEIR PHONE. I have no way of getting where i'm going in time now since for the past 20 minutes they just don't pickup although there's literally always someone at their depot. I used to use this cab service quite a bit a few years back, but i don't know what happened to them now that they are so inattentive to their own business. Then tells me I'm so close to their office I should have walked to them. Dude - I'm complaining because YOU ARE A TERRIBLE DISPATCHER. If you can't handle the basic initial interaction of your job i.e., picking up the phone, and then lash out at your paying customers you clearly don't understand your job description. So terrible!!!! I asked for a cab to the airport - checked traffic and asked him to take the Triborough and he refused. Showed him traffic was lighter and he proceeded to the Whitestone anyway. Then I get called by a different driver yelling at me that I got in the wrong taxi (they dispatched two) and my driver decided he had to pull over to get to the bottom of it (already on the way to the airport). Lastly, we got to the airport and he missed the departure area all together. We had to jump out and cross the exit lanes to walk back and into the baggage area to run up to our gates. At first they were pretty decent but the morning dispatcher today was DISGUSTINGLY RUDE and I won't spend another dime here! I called for a taxi at 6:05 AM and immediately went outside to stand in front of my house so they wouldn't make noise blowing the horn 10 times. 6:10 ... 6:20 ... 6:25. Why would I stand outside in 20degree weather for 20minutes and lie about it! Even he said no because he was in front of the wrong house until he saw me waving. I just called this company, and asked for a cab to meet me at Fleetwood station. The dispatcher said they don't meet cabs and to call when I was at the platform. I explained that I had TWO sleeping toddlers on the train, and my cell battery was about to die, so I couldn't. He was very rude and said that he couldn't have drivers waiting in the car for trains...not caring about a customer waiting in the cold for a cab with two little kids.
