Although worth visiting just to stare at the amazing displays of meat, its also a winner to 1. pick up your lunch / dinner on a daily basis and 2. grab one of the local delights to take home with you as a souvenir (depending on import rules of course). To choose your lunch couldn't be simpler even if you don't speak Austrian as there is a picture board above the counter showing exactly what your lunch will look like and the staff speak good to pretty much fluent English. They are all lovely, friendly and helpful too. So don't worry if you cant speak any Austrian they are their to help you. My favourites were a gammon type sandwich, the frikadella type meatball sandwich and the good old roast chicken. You can also pick up some salad or chips on the side amongst a few other things. Hans shop is just at the bottom of the main Penken lift so you can't miss it and you don't have to take an additional journey or diversion in those awful ski boots! The quality is fantastic and the portions plentiful. At a time when you're either playing hard or working hard Hans is your man!

If you are planning a party and need things in bigger quantities there is a good chance you will find it here. Big tubs of olives, yogurts and so on. I really liked this shop and will defenitely be back here again and again.

MPreis overall is a great store with very high quality fruit and vegs, great bread, excellent meat, cold cuts, meat, dairy, etc; they have a nice wine selection. There are many Mpreis's in Tirol and all the ones I've shopped in are consistantly good, some larger than others and some with rather distinctive architecture. This store has saved us many times on a Sunday when guests are coming and we are out of something.

Scratch that, grab a roll for your journey up the lift then after an afternoon of shenanigans on the piste (if like me only went up the mountain to sit at the bar) grab a rack of ribs and potato wedges... then throw some chicken nuggets in there too. A place that won't break the bank balance and leave you with a lot more money to buy loads of the cute lil Jägermeister baby bottles!

The duration of the lift is the perfect amount of time for a quick brunch so you don't have to spend any more time away from the slopes! Really recommend the ribs and schnitzel in particular, but everything in there is so affordable you should probably just go back every day for lunch and devour it all!
